Deutsch Drahthaar. Will be two years old in January. So far he has retrieved over 200 ducks and a ton of dove. Has tracked a few wounded deer. Hes a good luck charm too. Ive been hunting hard for 17 years and never killed a banded duck. On his first hunt I killed one and have killed three more since. Looking forward to his second hunting season. Hands down best dog I have ever owned.

I was trying to teach Skeet how to retrieve a dove today and she doesn't quite get it...

Pictures of my dog. He's a boxer/german shepherd mix. Got him from the pound at ~3 months, which are how old he is in the pictures. He's 1.5 now. Definitely not a gun dog, he's terrified of loud noises, hates the water, and will barely retrieve his ball.

Thanks, stinkbelly. You have a good looking dog too, I wanted a brown one but there was only one in the litter and it went first. Funny how us owners are about the only people who think they are a good looking breed. Vom Tejas Rockport,TX How about you? Trained him myself. Originally I wanted to buy a starterd or finished dog from Vom Kervinshof, but Im too poor and cheap.

What kind of dogs are those? D.D. your pup reminds me of an old man with a long goatee sitting there! I think they're good looking dogs and I don't even know what they are! Sounds like he's your good luck charm D.D.

They are a Deutsch Drahthaar. Mine is from Vom Zeder. They were in Berthoud Colorado, now he is in Tn.

Everyone has some good looking dogs that is for sure.

He is about 5 yrs old, he was about 3 yrs old in that Pic. He is about 115lbs and not fat, VERY big boned, and has the head of a Mastiff. Even the people at our vet took a double take when I said he was a lab. The breeders told us his Grandfather was on the cover of Field and Stream Magazine like 15 yrs ago, and he looks just like him. I would love to breed I just have not had the time to advertise him. If anyone is interested drop me a PM. Here is another good pic of him.

I have all his blodline info on his file, I will pull it out and check, I can't remember exactly. OFA wise, I do not have that info I believe, but I have seen and been around labs with hips issues, and he has no signs I can tell. One thing I have noticed about dogs with hip issues or get hip, is that their back paws point out (duck walk). I look at if their paws all point straight forward, I belive this is a breed standard? Historically for me these are the dogs that don't have hip issues, and that are how his are.

This is Fowl Dreamin Southern Star... AKA "Emmy" Havent seen a whole lot of chessies on here so i figured id post her up! Shes a year old in this pic, havent seen any other's that look like her, with the mask*. This dog is truly one of a kind to me!
