Just outside of Abernathy for dove. See any ducks near the ponds yet? I'm going to try some duck hunting this year.

I've seen some up north of us near kress and tulia. But none down this way yet--other than mallards. I am hoping the fall brings some mild temps to get them down here for a bit.

Delta looks pretty excited to be out there! You're pretty close to Lubbock... seems to be a lot of members out here! What all do you hunt for?

Stinkbelly, Great looking dog! Looks like you are certainly taking advantage of the "versatile" nature of this dog!

Work in Lubbock, but love living out a ways. We need to get a Lubbock area GTG. sometime. As for what I hunt for, I am an opportunist. I enjoy hunting anything legal. We hunt dove there at the house, and the wife shot a pheasant right by the house last season. Do quite a bit of pheasant hunting not too far away.

I agree! We should put something together pretty soon. I say we make ttubud the lead dog on this one. As long as that is ok with everyone. I would be in attendance.

Anyone know some other Lubbock and surrounding areas members on here??

That would be a great idea.

As far as getting a Lubbock GTG going... I'm not sure if you want me in charge of that, but I'll do it if no one else wants the job!

What are you guys thinking? Maybe a little dove outing? I just hunt the public lands right now, and haven't been overly successful out there... Anybody have a place that we could all meet up at and shoot a few?

All I've ever really hunted is dove, deer, hogs, and some varmints... and not even that much! I hadn't hunted for dove in about 10 years until this season (and I'm only 22). I plan to hunt anything and everything this year.

Shoot me a PM or something and let me know what you guys want to do... or we could start a Lubbock thread to discuss it and get everyone to check in.

I say we get a 5 oclock get together going for somewhere in town. Then plan something that all of us can attend from there. I am not the best at all of this stuff, but will do my best to attend. Any ideas??

Heaven forbid we use a thread no one is on. Yes we do.

Here are my bird dogs. Jazz is an English Pointer, she is eight months old. She's been excellent so far, hunting dove -  fetching, hunting dead and sitting. Haven't worked her on any quail yet, but very soon. Shooter is three years old and I've never seen a better bird dog.
