You made a blanket statement about LE that was untrue. You are basing your opinion on the news and the internet rather than actual knowledge and experience. Sure, a person can cherry pick a few incidents in liberal areas but again, you made a blanket statement that was untrue.

It should not happen at all. The whole country, talking USA not Canada, is worried about the legal consequences of protecting themselves and their families. I sure as the heck am worried about it but I will do what i have to.

I feel like we should return to hanging horse thieves. Let’s make it auto theft. Hanged.

How many people would be car jacked in Canada if they started hanging people for it?

Nope, leave your keys where the bad guys can find them and maybe they won’t hurt you. It’s like making a bargain with a terrorist.

The more a bully gets away with, the more he will try to get away with.

If you cause the death of another person in Texas, a grand jury must be convened to hear the facts of the case. It’s in the CCP and has been for a long time. In FW during my career I don’t remember anyone wrongly convicted of causing the death of another person who was using deadly force in the commission of a crime against them or another. As for places like California, that’s why I will never put one foot into that state.

ntxtrapper, just for the record, in all those years you were on the Force, how many cases did you prosecute or how many did you drop? I'm guessing none unless you became the district attorney.

Why are some of you beating on the Officers about this? These decisions you are PO'd about ain't their choice. These are compliments of the hardworking politicians.

My comment was intended to be ironic humor that holds a ring of truth. I don't blame members of law enforcement because they are tasked with doing what they are told to do and don't get the write their own laws or set their own budget.

I decided from the start (the completed investigation) if a case would or would not be presented to the district attorney’s office. The exception was the CCP requirement for what I stated above.
