Business Administration. Marketable varies due to a lot of factors. The economy being a big one.

Words of wisdom passed to me when I was young.

Get all the education available to you.

Rather than paid for your education, you will be paid only for how you use your education.

If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

Never has been.

Learn a trade, start a business, get rich. With or without a degree I hope this always works in America.

I have a Doctorate Degree from the School of Hard Knocks. I am not proud of this degree, but it's been very beneficial and I try and use it daily to help guide my loved ones. grin clap

My ex wife had an actual PhD from UT that was totally worthless as far as her profession going forward, just a bunch of debt that I helped pay off. She'll never pay it all off.

I am constantly reiterating to my kids the importance of continued education if you need that....if not there are other roads to take. Too many kids get pretty much forced into college by their parents and it's one big expensive cluster [censored]. There are quality trade schools out there and our Country is lacking in skilled labor. When I say skilled labor, I actually mean skilled labor.

One of the good things about getting older, and hopefully wiser, is that you can pass knowledge to your grandkids. Some listen. Some don’t.

Even though I technically wasn't her supervisor, no sense in going out of the way to poop where I eat.

My first sales boss always said, “ Don’t get your honey where you get your money.” I was fresh out of the oilfield and slept with every girl working there. It was not a great
decision at 23 but I was sales manager in three months.

Not something I would do now but it didn’t hurt my career!

It’s not needed for sales, start entry in sales position with a smaller company ( not automobile dealerships) then set your sights on a big corporation after about 2 years of proven success in your first sales role. Find something that interests you and the success ladder is endless. With that being said, you have to be trained (first role) and have personal skills.

That unqualified statement is true. But, I think it could be quantified that those with bachelor degrees are smarter than those without. That's going to ruffle some feathers, but facts are facts. Doesn't mean guys without degrees make more money than those with degrees.

Disagree, hire the right person and train them to do the job. Just make sure your hiring process is on point.

Very true. Been in sales/sales management for over 30 years. It has been very good to me. I have a college degree, and I think it got me in the door for my first serious job, but that is all. I don’t think my business degree has done anything since. It was all about the learning and experience after that.

You probably hire strait out of college because they don’t know how they should be treated. Experienced salesmen know what they deserve.
