Oh, I know, I was just pointing out that Fox is the only channel I have heard actually to have the cods to report the shooter was born male, identifies as a woman, changed their name, and who was Not born in the USA, and has a long criminal record including assault on a police officer...I guess we see how true it is or maybe they will all just sweep it under the carpet.

The news says the gun was legally purchased. This person was a criminal and had documented mental issues. His did he buy a gun legally?

Wasn’t a felony on record and lied about the mental health, that’s pretty easy to figure out OR the system flag as a hold and didn’t follow up on a timely basis. That’s about the only situations I can think of that would allow it…are there others?

A person has to be adjudicated as a mental defective or committed to a mental institution to be prohibited from purchasing a firearm. Those two findings are inculcated in a CCH but they are few and far between. The NIC system isn’t backed up right now so I doubt there was a hold that wasn’t followed up on. Most likely a bunch of misdemeanor convictions or deferred felonies.
