Any issues with using these through my new CVA Cascade on Cross Timbers deer, hogs and varmints? Typical shots are 150 yards and in. Thanks

I've used them on many a hog. I've even shot two hogs with one shot. They both dropped in their tracks. I was shooting a Winchester model 70 - .270

Pretty sure I used one in my 270 wsm on my last Shiras bull moose. They are good bullets.

You are going to hear from both sides on this. I have personally shot a lot of game with a 130 grain Core-Lokt bullet out of a .270 Win. Deer and antelope from 0 yards (literally under my tree stand) to 350 yards (Wyoming pronghorn) with excellent results. It’s not a new, sleek, high BC bullet or a tough monometal bullet, but has killed a lot of game over the last 75 or so years.

Great killing bullets; poor BC that limits range. Has probably put more meat on the table over the years than any other.

Personally, I wouldn't buy them. The bullet itself is fine. Very similar to hornady interlock in design. The loading itself isn't very consistent. As is most budget ammo. Before I started to reload for all calibers that I shoot, I had switched over to premium lines only. They seemed more consistent. That said, for 150 yards in, they will do a fine job. The inconsistencies are hardly noticeable at 100 yards.

Check out Chuke on youtube. He lives in Alaska and hunts with a .270, he did some videos about it and killed a lot of stuff. Including caribou from a good long ways. He is a bit of a nut, but he’s done some great stuff with that very load. I feel like he did it just to troll the posers and 6.5 creedmoor fanboys on the webs.

That stuff is the most confounding ammunition I've ever seen. Bullets are known for jacket separation, but that's far from unprecedented with cup & core projectiles. What I find wild is the accuracy they can be capable of given the range of powder charges I've seen from a single box. Way back when I first started loading I pulled 5 from a box of 3006 and weighed the charges, got something like a 3gr difference from min to max, and that same box shot 1" groups or better in my rifle, always had. Have seen many similar reports from others who've done the same test. It flies in the face of the most basic goals of hand loading ammunition, yet shoots accurately across many make and models of rifles and calibers at a usually very competitive price.
If you handed me a 270 rifle and told me to blindly pick a factory round to shoot 1" groups at 100yds with it, I'd choose the green and yellow box of 130's.

I shot a box of 180 grain core locks out of my 30-06. A 200+ fps range over the group but still held moa groups at 100 yards. I’m a handloader and like to make good ammo but in reality for the average joe factory ammo is far above and beyond serviceable. I shot rem 130’s in my 270 before I reloaded for it, they shot great.

That's the type of inconsistency that I'm talking about. At 100 yards, that's perfectly fine. At 200, 300, 400 yards, that 200fps variance will open up groups significantly. For guys that only shoot 150 yards, that's perfectly fine.

Yes, I shot a few at further distance and it got bad fast. I just don’t think the majority of hunters ever ask more of their ammo than that.
