Finally got it assembled and topped off this weekend (Thanks John/James!). Apparently I threw out 'The Timer' in part of the packaging when I started two weeks ago, or it was never in the box to begin with. Found one at a local feed store and we're off and running!
First observation is that it did not throw corn very far. I have two Ranch King feeders and thought they didn't throw well either, but their radius is significantly better. Battery is new but could be weak, I guess? Will go back when I have more time and evaluate. Not a bad idea to put a charge on a feeder battery before putting it in the field. I always do. Good luck with the new feeder.

Battery had been sitting in the truck for two weeks awaiting deployment. And you never know how stout it was from the store. The feeder is BIG for sure. The other guys can weigh in, but it easily held the claimed 600lbs. Might have gotten 13 sacks in it.

Bought mine already assembled from Tractor Supply about three weeks ago, so far so good Okay one complaint. It is so quiet when throwing that I cannot hear it, wonder if the deer can?

I have the same problem with both my feeders with the plates, though my wife can hear them both at 100 yards! I miss the sound. Watching them throw through binoculars isn’t the same!

Wire a empty beer can to the feeder so the corn hits the can.

I had a couple of go-rounds with mine but the last time, I drilled the holes that were recommended and lubed the bushing that the shaft sits in. I actually dropped the spinner plate down because there's some trash in a few of these bags and I think they were causing jams. It's been running like a top now for four weeks.

Why would you need a varmint cage with an eliminator plate? I run both on my feeders SW from Ozona as those coons can tear up a cannon ball. I ran cages only until they started tearing those off, went to eliminator plates only until they figured out how to get 2-3 coons hanging on those to get the plate to drop like when spinning, using both seems to have solved my problems ... for now anyway. I put a metal plate that is even with the eliminator when it is open. This prevents the damage caused by coons hanging on it. The plate is about 13" wide, wish i had made it a bit wider. Got some pictures of said metal plate? 713-702-1033
