He may be no George Strait and I have not followed his music but I know he has had over a couple dozen #1 singles on country charts, so there are obviously a lot of young people that do like him even if it is not really "country" anymore. And sure he is about making money. Who is not in that business. Doesn't he own Buck Commander too? He is not dumb putting out a protest song that says what his customer base has been saying every day. Something some other companies like Inbev could learn from him. Aldean has promoted and raised over 4 mil for cancer charities from ticket sales and my wife is an unpaid co founder and officer of a cancer charity, so I don't dare trash the man. It all may soon be forgotten with no effect on CMT, but this seems like a really dumb move for that company. Aldean's customer base is likely from the same customer base that is boycotting Bud Light. The potential is there if that includes CMT's customer base.

He lives in a subdivision in Nashville and has for a long time, not sure how much he knows about what actually happens in a small town. "Try this in suburbia" just doesn't have the same ring to it I guess  I also don't get singing about conservative ideas while choosing to live in a blue democrat controlled city.

I haven’t watched CMT in decades, but I wish I did, so I could boycot them now.
I also despise Jason Aldean & the whole “pop country” scene. Pure garbage.

Actually, some of the best country music ever performed is happening now but you won't hear it on the radio. Sturgill Simpson, Charlie Robison, Jason Boland, Colter Wall, etc, etc, etceteraaaa. 2. George Michael & Elton John could have released a duet of Islands in the Stream and it would have been way,way less gay than anything Rascal Flatts put out. Like him or not he is on the right side, he and his wife make no apologies about their political stance. There's definitely music that I like better than his, but he's the only one with the nuts to make a song/video like this right now. Yep.

Just got back from Nashville and the Grand Ole Opry. Heard some good old boys and heard some new fangled country/rock. Grand Ole Opry isn't that "Grand" anymore in my opinion but my wife really wanted to go. Downtown Nashville is a dirty/homeless/trashy kinda place if you ask me. Never heard Jason's music before this thread but I do appreciate that song and can back it up 100% regardless of who wrote it.
