Jason Aldean has lost the support of Country Music Television (CMT), with the network confirming to Fox News Digital it has pulled the musician's "Try That in a Small Town" music video from circulation.

Country music changes, like it or not. Hank Jr and his genre were way different than Hank Sr. 90's Country was different still. As is today's Country. 30 years from now, his fans will be talking chit about the new Country. Some of the new Country I dislike. Some of it is not bad. Like his music or dislike it. Good on him for saying it out loud.

I finally gave in and gave it an honest listen. Yeah, he says all the right words and shows all the right images. His message is going in the right direction. As a song, however, it sucks as much as ever. It’s garbage music. I love the fact that he’s going against the grain, pissing off the left, and standing his ground. I love that. But all the same, his music is beyond awful. I hate his voice. I hate his generic, “say all the right redneck words,” lyrics. I hate his plastic hat. His earrings, his fake voice, fake demeanor, fake everything. There’s nothing genuine about the man, as far as I can tell. If he were all that genuine, pro conservative, anti-left, pro American, so forth and so on, what took him so long? Why did people like Kid Rock have to pave the way for him? Why did his music suck so bad before now? (To be fair, it still does.) Why did he bail on that concert because of a “heat stroke?” Why does he wear women’s jewelry and clothing? Nah, he’s not the real deal. He just saw an opportunity to capitalize on people hating the left. Anyone with half a brain can see he’s not real. He’s a useless, money-grabbing twat that seized an opportunity. Nothing wrong with that, but don’t try to convince me that he’s some good guy because he said all the right words and you were dumb enough to fall for it. No decent person would sell his soul for the garbage that he passes off as music.

You’d think CMT would have learned something from the Dixie Chicks.
