Sounds bad at this point but he did say no injuries.

He called back and said the Ranch entrance was beat up some and he lost a bunch of fence along the north side but no real damage to any of the ranches structure but his main ranch boss that works for him lives in town and lost his entire house, He and his wife realized they waited to long to make a run for the storm shelter so they had the grandkids get in the tub and they laid pillows and blankets on them and laid on top of them as the tornado completely destroyed their home. All survived.

He also said we had one come right down the highway in front of our place in Dickens. The folks from the Pitchfork Ranch fixed all the damaged fencing since they knew he was already dealing with the Matador issues.

Very glad to hear they survived that. Scary as hell.

My BIL is the ranch boss and the bath tub was probably the best choice. His home was a beautiful old two story brick house with a huge basement under it. If they would have gone to the basement they might not have survived as the whole house fell into it because it had no concrete top to support the weight. It also was partially full of water because when the water pipes broke all the water ran into the basement.

The outpouring of neighboring communities was unbelievable. Fire departments, ambulances and heavy equipment from all over showed up Wednesday night and Thursday and for the most part are still there. Skid-steers were too many to count along with excavators, dump trailers and dump trucks with people cooking food, hauling in semi loads of water and people picking up debris.

Numerous houses and barns are just slabs with nothing to move or carry off. No way to describe the devastation. A 16 ft. stock trailer literately rolled into a round ball. A custom riding spur completely flat like you set in on an anvil and hit it with a sledge hammer. A fortune in antique rifles, spurs and bits totally gone. I could go on and on.

Being there makes you appreciate having clean underwear, a toothbrush and toilet paper in your house because they don't even have those! But they survived and that is all that matters!
