500 yards in high winds with a 2.5" KYL in 18 mph winds. This is from my Surgeon 308 Win, shooting down at Rifles Only. First shot went just a touch high right. corrected, and drilled the 2.5" target at 500. 175 VLD at 2760 fps. That 308 is sickly accurate.

a Remington 788 in .308 that I bought in 1972 as a graduation gift to myself at Gibson Discount, it has had several scopes on it. Right now a Leupold VX3 4.5x 16 x 40. I own several nice rifles including Weatherbys and Rugers but this is one I take out of the safe to the blinds often.

Remington 700 Varmint in 308 with the barrel cut to 18”.

These groups are 150 Interlocks sitting on top of 46.5 grains of Varget. Gun shoots even better with ELD Match. I added an HS Precision stock, Timney trigger and started hand loading for the gun. For a factory Remington barrel, it shoots pretty dang good.
