Will be shooting the new Montec CS this year, supposed to be awesome!
I dont like ANY fixed blade broadheads, tried lots, You can only find what you like by shooting animal and seeing results.

I am confused. You stated you shoot G5 Montecs exclusively but then you say you dont trust any fixed blade broadhead. Montecs are fixed blade heads. Not tryin to be a smart** just confused by your post.
I saw that too.

G5 strikers, fly just like field points, seem pretty durable.

my roommate has them, he shot at an armadillo to test it...missed...and the razor wire is demolished, also bent the cuttin tip.
I do NOT think these will hold up. I have seen a few broadheads nail a shoulder and seen the results..this razorwire seems doomed!

Fixed only for me and so far Muzzy 100 Gr. three blade. Might try something else next year but sticking with these until I shoot them all up.

All I have shot are 100 grain shuttle T's. As advertised they fly just like a field tip, and have produced masive amounts of blood on every animal I have taken with them, that said I have only taken three a deer and two pigs.

Hey guys long time lurker 1st time poster. I recently had the idea I would start hunting again. I have a Hoyt Deviator that I have not shot in 6 years so I pulled her out and dusted the dust off.
I use to use mechanical 100 grain tips but the Magnus 3 blade Buzzcut's have caught my eye. What are the opinions on these. How true do they fly compared to a field point?

Mechanicals fly about as close to field tips as possible. I also like the american broadheads. Muzzys and the like need some practice time and adjustment. I think I am shooting rage this year. I like keeping same setup. In the past I shift to broadheads from field tips a few weeks out and shoot nothing but during the season. My gripe with the fixed blades is only past 30 yards. If I could get nothing but 20 yard shots I would never touch a mechanical.

Don’t know if you can tell how big the exit hole is in the close hog, but I’ve always been impressed at the damage from the old Muzzy three blades. I like them because you get six to a package for nearly the same price as three of any others. You also get practice blades which I use a lot. Don’t know if my bow is exactly tuned or not, but I get good groups with field points and broadheads, just not the same point of impact. I can resharpen them or replace them if damaged. That said, I’m still considering the slick tricks just to see if they fly to the same point of impact as field points.
