I've never shot or handled the G44. Since I'm not a Glock owner, a 22 pistol wasn't serving as a trainer. I do have a Sig P226 in 22lr I bought as a trainer. That dang thing will run about 3 loads reliably. Everything else seems to jam almost every magazine. The TX22 has been flawless. We put Winchester white box 500-525 round ammo over the Christmas break. The only jams was my eldest son riding the slide. I really like shooting it.

I ordered me a TX22 today. Haven't shot either but I really like how the Taurus feels in my hand, the 16 round mags, and the trigger is better. Hopefully I don't get a dud.

Alright let's do this! I think Ox19 is close to me, we meet at a local range and go through an equal count of the same ammo. Get a total of FTF & FTE. Accuracy, we need an unbiased volunteer to shoot them both after we burn up about 500 rounds on the function test. I know a guy. He's not my BIL, he's everybody's. Don't threaten me with a good time. Alright ,here is my take on the TX22. I own 2. The first one is a 3 digit serial # gun I bought used about 2 years ago. Other than a barrel that looks like it was bored with a horseshoe file, it's been great. Acurate, trouble free and fun to shoot.. Round count is near 4000 since I owned it. Barrel does not like lead bullets But if you keep it cleaned. Plan on replacing barrel soon with a good one. After a year trying to find a TX22 Comp, I found one. Better than I ever hope for. First mag, slow fired at 20 yards grouped under 2 inches. Not centered well but nice group. I looked at rear right and it was all the way right. A small adjustment to the middle and it was centered. Next mag was shot as fast as I could gain sight picture, was 2.5 inches. The grip frame is like a CZ75 which I shoot well ,helps with the natural point of this handgun. After the first 500 rounds only 4 malfunctions. Ammo problems to blame. Federal bulk. CCI standard velocity shoot real tight groups and my shooting buddy( neighbors 11 year old son ) can go 10 for 10 in 12 ga. shotgun shells at 15 yards. I may have taught him too well. Y'all Glock people buy the Glocks but those who want a fun ,accurate 22 that will out shoot the Glocks, but a TX22.

If you like Glock, as you said, then stay with it. It's made to function the same as all of the others. I have been carrying a Glock since 1986. The 44 is a great shooter. Just use some high velocity rounds through it.
