Lafayette's Crawfish & Seafood Co. A little east of DFW but worth a drive down I-30 to Caddo Mills

The Oceanaire gets my vote. Wive & I go there at least once a month. Crab cakes are incredible.

We need a Mulate's. The coldest beer I have ever had. You know...with tiny pieces of ice... The food is OMG!! And...a dance floor with a cajun band playing. God...I miss home... OMG is right! Ate there a couple of weeks ago and it REALLY was terrible. $60.00 for me and the wife and it sucked. We drank water.

Fishmonger's has some of the best oysters around. Have tried Half Shells and wasn't impressed with the size or freshness. Got a friend that hooks me up on the mud bugs when they are in season.

There's a little hole in the wall down between Acton and Grandbury called Willie and Dick's. They have the best fried catfish around. It's fairly cheap and they serve free beer while you eat. Can't beat a deal like that!
Grab ahold of something, bite your lip, and GIVE IT HELL!!!!!

1. Hook Line and Sinker 2. Flying Fish 3. The Big Easy 4. Fishmongers 5. Big Shucks
Pappadeaux is great, but price tag is high. I'm sure Chamberlains is great, but I hear price tag is high like steak house pricing. Nates - Wasn't impressed. Rockfish - Seafood enchilada's are ok.
Best place is Texas is Kings Inn - Loyola Beach just south of Kingsville.

Nate's is lame; my wife and I gave them three chances. Very ordinary, and fairly expensive for the quality/experience.

Check out "Big Fish" on Main st. in Grapevine. Pretty darn good. When around Cedar Creek Lake, stop by "Reds" in Seven Points just north of 274. It used to be "Wings". It's open Th. Fri. Sat. and Sun. Good food and oyster bar. Prices very fair.

I was not impressed with Nate's. It was overpriced and underspiced. Very bland.
Overall the seafood in Dallas in no way compares to some of the places on the coast.

All I can say is in that area, D/FW is a dissapointment. A 100% major, total and complete dissapointment.
I agree. I haven't found any good seafood places. That's why I just cook my own And, personally, I'd rate Nate's at about a 5 out of 10. Really not that good.

I'd just like to say... NATE's SUCKS!!! And so does the service at papadeaux!
Best seafood I have found:
DFW: 1. Trulucks 2. Vincents 3. Fishmongers
Galveston: 1. Gaidos
Port Aransas: 1. Crazy Cajun 2. Pelican Landing 3. Snoopys (for cheap fried seafood)

I work at pappadeaux and I can say this about their food:Their fried catfish is bland tasting. If you want good fried catfish go to catfish floyd's I think it is on Kiest. Pappadeaux does the blackened and char grilled fish and sauces better than anyone else though. So overall the fried selections are average (except the awesome gator and cheese sticks) and the non fried items are great. Certain items vary. Some people love the gumbo and some hate it. I think it tastes good, but I have had better and I am not too sure on how authentic it really is in terms of preparation.
A couple of other things, When they say fresh they really mean it! Several truck loads of seafood goes to each restaurant every week. Yeah not as fresh as living on the coast, but for landlocked metroplex it is not bad at all. The seafood origins are a mixture of locations. We have live maine lobster, australian rock lobster tails, chinese crawfish tails, Louisiana live crawfish when in season from Feb. - May (a rough estimate give or take), and more exotic fish from Chile, Alaska and other places. Oysters are fresh from the coast and shucked to order.
Finally this place is very clean and does a great job of doing everything by the book (at least at the location I work at). However do yourself a favor and get your sauce in a paper cup instead of the metal cups. Those metal sauce cups never get wash correctly and usually have residue and dishwater in them.
Oh yeah if you do get bad service just make a complaint. If you don't like something send it back. They will bring you something else. If it takes too long then odds are that the food will be free. They strive to satisfy customers and usually have ghetto cheap people take advantage of this, so if you have a legit problem you may as well do the same. Either way just talking to the manager usually gets you something free.
Some Items that are worth the price:
Catfish with Alexander sauce
Pasta Mardi Gras
Cheese Sticks
25 shrimp and fries $9.95 Mon-Fri 11-3
Large gator
Cedar Plank Salmon (expensive, but tastes so damn good!)
Live crawfish when in season
Stay away from these overpriced items
Ribeye (tastes great but too damn much at $27.99)
Catfish Platter (4 bland catfish fillets and fries are not worth the amount they charge, find a hole in the wall to get it at instead)
Gumbo alright taste but too expensive and small
I only lie when I tell the truth.
