My vote goes to Big Shucks on Mockingbird. Best shrimp cocktail and oysters on the half shell around. Reminds me of the fresh seafood places you find on the coast. Its reasonably priced which makes it even better.

My problem is finding a place that serves seafood or crawfish dishes made with HOME GROWN AMERICAN MADE seafood or crawfish. I will not eat CHINESE or foreign seafood. I have called around and I do know Big Fish in Grapevine serve Gulf shrimp and crawfish from South Texas and Louisiana.

That's the truth! I've got shrimp boat customers that went belly up in southern Louisiana because the Vietnamese were importing shrimp and selling it on the docks as fresh...

Eddie V's in Fort Worth and Austin is amazing, with a price tag to match. They tell you exactly where every piece of seafood comes from. 4 different types of oysters generally, etc. They fly it in every day. If you want to treat yourself to good seafood in the interior of the State, that's the spot.
I'm also partial to my recipe for shrimp tacos when the shrimp are purchased on the docks in Galveston and cooked up that afternoon!
I wish I was West of the Pecos today.

I like pappadeuxes, boil crab and cajun corner for american style seafood. For asian style I like Blue Fish, Tokyo One and Sing Kee. If I want REAL seafood thats fresh... I buy mine live and cook it myself. =)

All I can say is in that area, D/FW is a dissapointment. A 100% major, total and complete dissapointment.
I grew up on the coast. There just isn't anywhere I have gone to in the metroplex that is anything like a fresh seafood place along the coat, no where - no how.
I tried Nates 2 or 3 times because I allways hear how great it is - ho hum...
We just got back from a week in Corpus with the inlaws and I do not lie, we ate seafood just about every single day...
We need a "Crazy Cajun" or "Boiling Pot" here....just steam it and dump it on the table with massive amounts of sausage, taters, corn, and butter...mmmmmm....

Fish City or Half Shells is legit, although Remingtons in Addison isn't bad either.

Chamberlain's Fish Market, Cafe Pacific and the Oceanaire are excellent for nice places. I normally go to Big Shucks or Hook, Line, Sinker for take out.
I stay away from the chains normally.

I forgot about hook, line, & sinker on Lemmon....for oysters I'd rather stick with Fish City or Half Shells. Chamberlain's is awesome, never been to the Oceanaire. Guess I need to try out Big Shucks...

We need a Mulate's. The coldest beer I have ever had. You know...with tiny pieces of ice... The food is OMG!! And...a dance floor with a cajun band playing. God...I miss home...

+1 on the Mulate's. Wife and I just stopped at the original outside of Lafayette, La. on the way back from Destin. In FW, you may try Ocean Rock on Bluebonnet Cir. Not bad for being inland.

I got food poisoning at Mulate's in NOLA. We sat down and I picked up the salt shaker and a roach crawled up my arm! Should have left then. Had some pasta and puked my guts up the next 12 hours!

+1, but I liked Fishmongers when it only had four tables in the store, still good though.
Cafe' Pacific would be my first choice then I would vote for Vincent's. For desert, S&D's lemon meringue pie

Anybody remember Zuider Zee restaurant in Texas It was good as was The first place i ever ate shrimp was at Zuider Zee (maybe 1965?) and when i was in college my roommate's sister took us to Little Bit of Sweden and i tried all kinds of food for the first time. Awesome smorgasborg. Hadn't heard those names in a long time.

The best seafood in Dallas is either McCormick & Scmidt's at Northpark or The Oceanaire at the Galleria.
Vincents, Remington's, and Go Fish are good too.
If you want Cajun, Nate's!!
