My son is a Mgr at a Fortune 100 company. In his younger days he was the hatter at Standard Hat Works in Waco. We designed a bar tap steamer he showed it off last week at Dallas Market Hall. It was a big hit. If anyone around Lorena TX. Need your hat shaped he can do it. always looked for a patickular look in a hat... Then took it swimmen, creek/lake, & wore till dry... Country fit... gave it caracter...

My thing was that years ago (I'm dating myself) it seems just about everyone wore the slightly smaller style. If you have a vehicle where you take your hat off while you drive, etc.- the slightly smaller size was a convenience. In any event I was wondering whatever happened to that size. I guess it is still made but not pushed. Now I want a Model94 but with a full length magazine on a 24" barrel.

If I were younger I would buy myself another Stetson and wear it proudly every day but those days are long gone. The worst pair of boots I owned were Tony Lamas !. The best pair of boots I ever owned was Paul Bonds that I bought way back around 1975.They fit like a glove from the very first time I put them on but sad to say now they are made in mexico or so I heard. Guess I might of got the wrong info about Paul moving to mexico. https://www.paulbondboots.com/

I collect Stetson hats. I think the one you are speaking of is the Stetson Open Road. This hat was made famous by both Harry Truman and LBJ. I have 4 of these...my favorite Stetson style. I wear one every day.

Tony Lamas. When I was a kid I read Western Horseman a lot- always remembers the ads, those Tony's overly dolled up for sure. I was in San Angelo about a week or two ago and stopped at Leddy's. Nicest Woman I ever met. $1,400 is sort of steep but you get what you want, which is worth a lot. Bull hide, cutting heel with shelf, thumb holes, sub nosed toe to your preferred width, etc. etc. Everything just the way you want it. Might nibble at the bait.
