Saturday evening, at 5:41pm, I sat alone beside my mother on her bedside, held her hand, and looked upon her face as she died. I was very close to my mother, a momma's boy. I spoke to her all the time and never imagined what it would be like to not hear her voice again. I can honestly say I've never felt so much pain in my life.

Experiences like that made me realize long ago the wastefulness of finding offense in the actions of another. And the importance of finding faith in God and seeing the good in others. Without it, we are lost.

I am sorry for your loss, Sir. It hurts losing your Mother. May she rest in peace.

I agree with your statement, and I believe in God. You will see her again, just as I will see my parents again someday.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I lost my mother 24 years ago and I still think about her all the time. It doesn't feel like it right now, but the pain does subside over time even though we never stop missing them.

Prayers for your loss. I know your pain. 18 years ago I was in the hospital room with my mom when she passed. We were also very close. She was 55....my age now. Sobering....cancer sucks. I miss her every day.

I pray fond memories eases your pain....

Both my parents are gone. My father passed in 1981, my mother - four years ago.
I still miss them both.

Prayers up.

Yep. If you don't know God everything will piss you off. My grandma told me forgive and forget and if you have to go somewhere and start over to forget it's okay too but forgiveness is key. Don't burden your life with heavy baggage that others can't carry and try to throw on your back, you can weight yourself down enough by yourself but you have to learn what to hold on to and what to let go of both spiritually and materialistically.

Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

I'm a few days from being 4 years in. You'll never be the same. The new normal it's just a strange feeling.

I'm only 35. I was 15 when my dad died. I wasn't there. I'm not looking forward to when it is my mom's time to depart.

Grace and peace,
JDK

Sorry for your loss. Parents, especially the ones we are close to are a very hard loss.

I watched my dad battle cancer for 2.5 years, knowing the entire time it would be fatal. He moved in with us for 2 years and died in hospice in our house. You would think 2.5 years of knowing the inevitable is coming would prepare someone, but I called like a baby at his funeral. He was my hunting buddy for 20+ years, the woods just haven’t been the same without him.
