El Sombrero in Saginaw ain't too bad and has the coldest beer in the metromess. I don't remember names but there are countless hole-in-the-wall eateries all over S Texas. Some of those taco stands in Laredo are out of this world. Ever wonder why u don't see stray cats or dogs there? Burrito Inn in Ft Stockton is purty good also.

I ate at the Blue Goose once, it was really good food. I never could remember the name of that place until you said it.

Herd's burgers are better! But Dairyland has better hours.

There is a place in El Campo that i ate at once and the food was absolutely amazing. By far far the best mexican food I have ever eaten and I have eaten a lot of mexican food. I don't remember the name but if you ever get the chance and you go into El campo you cant miss it it is the biggest restaurant and at night it is packed especially on a Saturday night. Oh and if you go in there hopefully you can speak a little bit of spanish or have somebody that does because the waiters speak very little if any english.

Petra, 75 and Eldorado in McKinney. This is not a canned mexican restraunt everything is made fresh. You can watch your food being cooked and the place is super clean. Good beers and patio seating as well. They got it down.

Club Gas, a convenience store in Ruidoso, NM. Just had their tacos special, tomorrow will be fajitas and Thursday will be enchiladas. Great taste and plenty of food. We have their specials every time we are here.

The Jalapeno Steak dinner at Alejandra's in Ballinger is hard to beat. $11.99

Ribeye steak, grilled pico de gallo, rice, beans, cheese enchilada, salad, and guacamole.

Right by the court house. I eat there almost every night while I hunt.

Almost any place I have eaten in El Paso has good Mexican food. Avilas is great, Leos is the same and it goes on and on.

You need to try La Fiesta. The chicken fry- mexican style is great, tacos el hombre are great too. You can bring your beer in.

I grew up in Pecos.

I have actually had La Fiesta twice since I have been here also. The only thing I have had at either place were the green enchilada dinners.
I'll have to go in and try some of the other stuff you mentioned.

Time for me to weigh in.

Breakfast Tacos-Stripes in North McAllen @ Ware & Dove.
Lunch & Dinner (See Below)
1. Koko's Uptown-N. 10th Street, McAllen
2. Costa Mesa-11th St. McAllen

The Woodlands in north McAllen has the best atomosphere and $1 margaritas. Romeo Rendon owns the restaurant and has full body mounts of B&C WT deer, Axis, Fallow, Sika, Black Bear, and Elk. The bar is made of native mesquite harvested and finished out by a local cabinet maker from over in Mission. Food is pretty good, too. Good Jalapeno appetizers, tortilla soup, and enchiladas.

Costa Mesa's Chili Rellenos are the best...made with shredded beef (not hamburger). The Tlapeno is also super good.

For more real Mexican flavor, we head over to Nuevo Progresso and eat at Arturos, La Fogata, or Garcias. Garcias's margaritas and cold beer is fantastic with their ceviche. La Fogata makes some mean Cabrito. Arturos has very good traditional Mexican combo plates and such.

Let's see:

Posado's in Frisco & Plano
Ojeda's in Dallas
Herrera's in Dallas
Pappasito's in Dallas
Joe T's in Ft Worth
The Original in Ft Worth

And I think the name of the place is Mexican Inn over in Arlington, not sure though...it's a hole in the wall about 15 minutes SW of the ballpark and they serve rattlesnake, goat, lamb, etc....man I could use some mexican food right now...

Casa Vieja in Greenville is the best in North Texas.
A close second is Raphael's on 380 near Denton.
