I've eaten at El Torito in Cameron a couple of times lately. I must say it is very, very good Mexican food. Better than I've had in a long time.

Pork Adovada! Anything really, but the Pork Adovada is amazing. I've found nothing like it in Tx.

I seriously don't think there is any good Mexican food restaurants in Texas. Tex-Mex maybe. But nothing more than that.

El Ranchito in Dallas. The Cabrito a la Parrilla (baby boat) is phenomenal. And the Milanesa (chicken fried steak, spanish version) is awesome!

KD if you're used to west Texas mexican food you sure are going to miss asado. You can't find it up here. I was raised in Odessa and everytime I go back I fill up on asado.
That is so true. There was a place in Odessa on W. Co. rd. called Esperonza (sp) and they had something called 'Gizo'...not sure what I was eating but DAGGUM it was good. Their asado was to die for as well.
