Well I did mad, I've seen one snake all summer and I avoid that spot like the plague!

Steps to resolve this situation, 10rds of 3-1/2" buckshot that's 5 rounds for each snake and make every round count they're tougher than hogs, 5 gallons of diesel not gasoline a confined area like that with gas is a recipe for disaster don't ask me how I know, once the blind has burned down don't think the job is done get a backhoe or tractor and dig at least 6' deep, once the hole is complete throw the remains in the hole and fill it with concrete.

Good luck up

Every time I step out my back door of my house, I'm very carefully looking around. A year ago on th 25 of Oct, I stepped out to walk down to my shop, stepped 3 feet from a rattle snake curled up. I never heard the rattles. When I caught the movement in my peripheral vision I immediately filled the drawers, the said aww shuckssss. Jumped again, got in the house and grabbed the gun, z10 rounds later that snake is dead. Had 10 rattles on its tail.

So now I look around carefully when I go out the back door.

Don't see as many copperheads where I hunt but LOTS of cottonmouths. Always careful when putting up blinds and filling feeders during the early season, I've had a couple of close calls.

Good God!
I am not afraid of them either but in that situation I might have needed some fresh drawers!

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

Glad this had a better ending than it could have.

My brother walked out of his house one night in flip-flops and just happened to skip a step before getting to the ground and there was one laying on the step he decided to skip. Good lord was looking out for him that day.

Post Script: I hunted last year out of one, we got many, many rattlesnake's here( 7 so far this year) SO a bottom was a no brainer, for me.

Dang, if that was me I wouldn't be able to get out of there fast enough and there would be bullet holes all over the place.

No, truth be told everyone puckers up tight enough you couldn't drive a 16 penny nail in that hole with a 5lb sledge wink

Glad it worked out that way and wasn't a real bad situation.
