I learned long ago you can't reason someone out of something they don't reason themselves into.

I don't understand the "hog-proof" claim-seems like all they mean is hogs won't knock it over and destroy it. A few T-posts and some baling wire will make any feeder "hog proof". You still have to fence any feeder to keep hogs out of it.
I personally don't like them because 1)it can obscure the animal, 2)it is plastic, and 3)the filler hole is small and thus a pain. I much prefer my 600# All Seasons stand-and-fill feeders. Got 5 crank up tripod feeders. They legs lock into the top section and will not spread out or fall out if out if you pick up the feeder. Been out in south texas since 2007 with more hogs than you can shake a stick at and cattle. They are not tied or staked and never had a problem.

You personally don't like them yet you have never owned one or used one.. This is evident from your comments like the filler hole being small, which it is not and they are the easiest feeder to fill that I've ever OWNED.

That's fine but they cannot be easier than basically getting a sack out of the truck, throwing it in the feeder, and pulling the sack out. No, I don't own one and never will. I personally don't spend over a thousand bucks on something I don't like when I see it. Doesn't mean I can't have an opinion. I get you like them. I'm glad. It's an opinion site. Relax.

The capsule feeder is the greatest thing since sliced bread - just too damn expensive. If they ever come down to around $600 they will fly off the shelves and all my feeders will be replaced. I have no idea why the previous guys have problems - I have pigs and cows on my ranch and zero problems - 4 stakes in the ground and no issues. Or fill the base with water like the instructions suggest.
I am currently running 5 feeders - one capsule, one stand/fill, 2 cranks up and one with a ladder. None with feeder pens as they are a pain to me.
NO question the capsule is the easiest to maintain, safest to fill and requires no effort - just pull up and fill from around knee level. And you have zero corn loss.
My second choice is the stand/fill but does not have the throwing radius as the capsule.
As time goes on all my feeders will be capsules.

I'm relaxed. I just respond when I see an opinion turned into a statement from experience. I've found that the Capsule feeder discussion is similar to the Bose discussion.

Funny you mention that as I have the original Bose acoustic wave that I bought 20 years ago and still love it's fill the room sound to this day.

You shouldn't have said that- they'll come out of the woodwork telling you how that's overpriced crap, that their Radio Shack console stereo sounds better, etc. etc.
