I have only done evening hunts with them so I have not had dinner with them, but Doreen can cook some stuff that sure smells good. Bob and Doreen are good people. treat them with respect and they will do the same to you. Have fun and enjoy.

Hunters Creek for me this year...

Shot at 8
Killed 6
recovered 4
this was over four hunts, so I brought one home each time.

Tons of hogs great set ups...meals included!!! Can't of wrong in my book!!!

If you want more info or a map of the place with stand locations...let me know!!

I just booked a hunt with them. What are their meals like? 3 hots a day?

thanks

For the one day hunt (or 24 hrs) they serve dinner the first night and breakfast the next morning.

Cant remember all of the dinners I have had there, but I assure you they know what they are doing in the kitchen. Most memorable for me was a type of mexican casserole they made, it was outstanding!

Breakfast is usually breakfast tacos, bacon, sausage, cheese, etc.

To sum it up; grub wise or action wise, you wont leave there disappointed.

Two hots a day...breakfast was eggs bacon and pancakes. Lunch..we had cold cuts and chips. Dinners were awesome.
We had the Mexican casserole, BBQ PORK, and on the last night..we brought down OMAHA STEAKS!! They cooked all the meals while we were out killing pigs!! Came in at night to delicious dinners!!

Bob has recently hired an "official chef" that cooks all the meals. He decided to give his wife Doreen a break. Probably a good thing...she has to put up with all of Bob's crazy sh*t..Haha!!

But you won't go down there for the meals...it's definitely a bonus...but you will keep going back for the hogs!!! Awesome place!!

I've never used a guided hunting service so I have a question. When the website says that there is a "$50 per sitting" fee for guided hunts, what does that mean? Is a "sitting" a certain length of time, or does each time you move to a new spot constitute a "sitting"? Thanks

I booked with Bob for next month after reading all I could find on this forum. We are flying in so I hope it all lives up to the billing!

Has anyone seen bobcats there? We'd like to call a few in to the middle of the day.

One question for those who have been there: how far should we plan on shooting?

@dragonuv...not exactly sure about the "sitting fee". We never use a guide. We ask Bob and Shannon where the best spots are and they tell us where we should try. They want you to be successful so that you spread the word about their ranch. I'm thinking that is if you take them out to the stands with you..maybe 1st time hunters?? Don't know for sure...I'll try and find out for ya.

@rodell...I have not personally seen bobcats there..but I'm sure they are there. Have Bob or Shannon try and take you out to the free range area to call them in. I'll talk to Bob and get back to ya!!

We will take a FoxPro with us. There must be cats there, somewhere!

Rodell...HUNTERS CREEK RANCH hosted a hunt that was featured on the sportsmans channel...Excaliber's Hunting the backwoods. On that episode they took a bobcat from a Treestand..so I know they have them there. I think they said it was on the leased property. It would probably work out if you hunted bobcats on the free range during the day then head back to the ranch for the evening hunt for pigs.

When hunting from the blinds, I would say the blind with the furthest feeder is about 100 yds. Most of the others are anywhere from 70 - 20 yds (including the bow blinds)

Good folks out there, we run guided hunts with dogs just down the road near Paris, and occasionally get folks wanting to get in a stand for a aday or to. THey have always gone out of the way to assist in getting those last minute guys somewhere to hunt!

We had a great hunt there this weekend. Good people, great service and good food. The largest hog from our group was a 230 pounder. Some were taken from stands and some by ambush. With all the rain the foliage was pretty thick and the hogs had lots of food without making an appearance.

City Meat in Mt. Vernon did a great job with processing the meat.

I would definitely recommend them.
