Last Thursday in Viking, Alberta. 10 pt that weighed 250 lbs and measured 148 5/8. The outfitter, a guide and a taxidermist measured him but I don't think he is quite that large. I believe 145-146 is closer.

Heck, just measure it and see what it is. People make it out to be rocket science but it's very straight forward to get a gross score. You should a get a second opinion on that 131" your processor scored...I would say at least mid 140 gross...great buck either way. I got the opposite from my taxi today when he picked up the cape from my son's buck. He text me 143 2/8ths. I just don't see it. When I had my hands on the deer I didn't think he'd get out of the mid 30's. Double post pic but its on page 1 of this thread. Do y'all see 143? I know how to score one, just didn't do it that day. It was 60* when he was shot and climbing to 70* by the time pics and celebration was over, had to get him to the walk in asap.

fouzman sent me these to post for him..... Said he's proudest of the native genetics. Killed this one in Medina Co. This year. Native deer. No outside genetics. 1,000 ac high fence. 192 5/8 gross, 187 7/8 net green for Texas big game awards 308 4/8. Hunted him seven times with a bow. Missed once at 47 yards. Finally picked up the rifle on the eighth time out and got him just before dark on the last day of my hunt

Do y'all see 143? without the 2 extra pionts the drop tine and the 10 inch browtines that deer probably wouldnt make it to 120. With all the goodies I would believe the score you posted. Those brows are like extra points! Awsome deer

Yea chevy hope you're right. I just PM'ed STX and asked him too. I'm kicking myself for not measuring it now and I don't want to show up at the taxi and make him think I don't believe him. Just have to wait and see I guess.

He followed that up the next year with this buck. He was over 206" gross and more typical.

159 7/8", 2006 in Cottle County with a model 70 3006 at 90 yards. Pretty crappy pic...... 154 1/8", 2012 in Wheeler County with my bow at 21 yards. 147 7/8", 2006 in Donley County with a Savage 99 308 at 110 yards. Did these bucks come off your little honey hole? One of those and all 3 of my wife's are from there. I didn't post anything about our hunt last year, just didn't feel like dealing with the hassle. I'm debating on posting our opening week "luck" from this year.

Those are all great looking bucks! Got any pics of the mount of the top 10? Thanks Ranchman. I don't have any handy but will try and get some. I got him in '06 and hadn't looked at mounts much and just thought I had to have him in an upright pose like he was "the boss". Everybody tried to talk me out of it but I wouldn't listen, even the taxidermist. He did a fantastic job but it is a very simple, straight forward pose. Wish I would have had him offset, turned, semi-sneak, something but oh well. Live and learn.

I might have mounted that buck in an upright pose as well. He is a purty deer
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.
