I was kidding about reusable signs, but the last shutdown was 1995.
It is amazing how fast they can get signs made, I Googled it and found several different signs that were being used.

Does anyone else find it odd that those signs appeared to be ready to go and were available almost instantly?

Does anyone know what the deal is with Caddo and LBJ? For some reason I though one of them was run by the state, and the other by the national forest service, meaning one would be open and one would not.

Too bad you ain't makin the rules of the game..... Only ones getting back pay are the ones that are in emergency necessary positions... They are working without pay and will get backpay. The rest of us just get leave without pay..... Hard to believe that access to land is blocked also... I can't see any trespassing charges being upheld... It is OUR land......... What I can see happening tho (and the reason for the signs I'm sure), is someone (let's call em Bubba) getting hurt, lost, or stuck and can't call a ranger to help them... Then filing a bigass lawsuit against the government....

My question is, with all this public land "closed" who's out there ensuring poachers aren't running wild?

The email came from a .gov address, so I believe it's legitimate. I don't want to intentionally break the law, so my hunting for the year is over.

No surprise, I'm sure they already have the "Under Martial Law" signs created too.

Another way for those "in charge" to place blame on the other side.

And anger as many as possible!

If the government is still taking out federal taxes out of my check then corp land is still open. Just my opinion.

Hagerman is closed. I'm sure the guys who were drawn for the first hunt segment in November are really sweating it, praying that it opens back up in time for their hunt. What a bummer.

There were guys that were on the archery hunt at Aransas NWR and were asked to leave Saturday and locked out. There were stands still in the field and deer in the walk in cooler.

I would be out also..... And especially if I was one of the furloughed park employees... Federal and state land OUR land so trespassing don't really fly.... A military or restricted area is a different story of course...

Thanks Deerdown. I will let Russell know. I hope the same holds true when they get to Colorado.
