I believe the 5.7 leaves a lot to be desired. It is bulky (just look at the magazine!) they are loud, ammo is high not to mention the gun is going to run you a thousand. You could buy four Ruger mark III's which would do you a whole lot better for the cost of one Five Seven. Now lets get to ammo.. It seems you already know the cost of Five Seven so why would you prefer it to .22? I mean Don't get me wrong, the 5.7 round has its place, but a ranch gun is not one of them. I would Look at a Ruger Mark III, if you don't want a .22 I would look for a 10mm or .357 Magnum.. But honestly a .22 is all you need.

I already have 22s. I was interested in the 5.7 because of the accuracy and low recoil. I also like to add a gun to the collection every now and then, that you don't see everyday. The only thing im hearing i dont like is how bulky it is. I need to put my hands on one for sure.

I sure don't think the pistol/carbine is is for everyone for every one but the 5.7 absolutely belongs on my ranch. I can keep coons and 'Dillias out of the garden and yard and don't have to worry about ricochet. I have stopped a dozen beaver from digging dens in my damn. The 5.7 is most at home on the ranch. Earns it's living most respectably I am not trying to sale anyone a 5.7 so if someone doesn't have a desire for one it is sure ok with me but to say there is no place on a ranch for the 5.7 is like saying there is no place on a ranch for a pickup truck

Like I have said 'love mine, no way I am getting rid of it' but cannot in good faith tell you it does not have issues.

Oooookkkkk Big and blocky.  It is the lightest of these three pistols. I carry it IWB with no problem. I carry it in a Kramer horse hide. Carries much easier than a 1911?????

Those are some nice pistolas rusty! Out of curiosity I measured the shortest distance from the outside of the trigger to the closest place on the back of the grip. I think if you are interested in the FN you should try one in person. All of my sigs, p220, p226, p220 had a greater reach distance to the trigger (74mm) than the FN (73mm). My Glock G37 had 73mm reach. All my 1911 had greater reach than the FN
