Because its harder to find ammo for and just as if not more expensive than the Weatherby; also if you change your mind and go to sell it they are usually harder to sell also.

I'm a big fan of the 25-06 and 7mm08. I own both of them and have killed a lot of deer with them. I am not a Weatherby fan for some unknown reason however, the .257 Weatherby is hard to beat. I have a friend that has one and it does everything it is suppose to. I will probably never own just out of spite. LOL. But, it is a really good round. I think you can even get the entry level Weathery's for around $400.00 to $500.00. All in all there really is a whole bunch of great calibers out there will never be a true winner. Good luck.

Not really, RUM is easy to find ammo for and comes in a LOT better options to resale than the WBY. Most folks just get conned into the WBY name.

What's on the headstamp? And you mean to tell me there aren't more production rifles available in 300 RUM and more available ammo? Remington had a habit of producing wby chamberings for a while, they'd be dumb to produce something to compete with their RUM.

Remington stainless Sendero .300wby - I believe they produced it for only 2 years and they are REALLY hard to come by; I had to look for a couple of years and finally found one on gunbroker. However they did make several different models of 700's in .300wby; and other rifle makers make .300wby rifles such as Blaser.

The .257wby is a custom built on Mauser action; but like wise they make 700's in .257wby also and they are quite popular.

...now how many options are there for the RUM in comparison, there's absolutely no reason whatsoever to look high & low for a decent old 300wby when there RUM is so widely available. nothing really compares to the 257wby, so that's irrelevent.

Maybe you missed the part about "get a .300win or .300WSM if you dont like the weatherby"......or maybe your just obsessed about the .300RUM....either way I dont care; there are plenty of options for both in modern rifles.

I would build a magnum rifle because you already have three great deer guns.

Or pick up an AR-15 or two if you don't already have one.
