Looks like bobcats are her specialty. I like the one where it is the head coming through the grass and the one where the cat is stalking, as it is on the log.
The one with the cat through the grass is mine. BJ did it for me back a few months ago.
I Second 2Racks, she does good work.

Has anyone heard about a Rusty's who is recommended by Syracuse processors? He works out of his home in Euless.

I'll have a new one to report on in a few months. The processor in Graham that I use recommended Sam Hill with Cedar Creek Taxidermy in Breckinridge. Not exactly inside the metroplex but we'll give them a go with the 10 pointer I shot this year. Not a bad deal at $425 for a shoulder mount. Earl

And this type of cat-work is not worth the drive?? Just had to barge in on this conversation..sorry...b-cats are my favorite thing to work on...lol
Got me a bobcat yesterday and had the chance to meet Sheila (LadyTaxi) and her husband Jerry today. They were super helpful and friendly and have a top notch operation. You felt you were visiting with friends you had known a long time instead of ones you just met. They had lots of beautiful bobcats (and other animals) to see in various poses.
They have this huge South Texas mountain lion that looked so alive i was afraid to turn my back on him.
If y'all East Texas boys ever get one of them black panthers (or any other big cats) y'all got take it To Jerry & Sheila. There website is great(www.brandonwildlifestudio.com) but seeing these animals in person is the way to go. Pictures do not do these wildlife works of art justice.
Looking forward to posting some pictures of my bobcat mount on here in a few months.

Nice meeting you the other day Frognot!
We really enjoyed the visit, and hope to have a chance to chat awhile again when your kitty gets done.
Thanks again for dropping by!

Ladytaxi, I sooo love your bobcat mounts. I do hope to have one for you one day. I screwed the pooch on my first ever chance 2nd weekend of deer season. A nice one came out but the bugger skittered accross the draw before I could get it in my scope...darn things are quick. I know how to stop a buck, what's the best way to stop a cat and get a shot? Make a rabit sound (like I know how to do that)...gotta practice this predator hunting stuff Earl

Earl, thanks bunches...and sorry ya missed out on the kitty! LOL...i couldn't tell ya on how to make them "stop like a buck"... I hunt using a digital caller, which makes a pretty nice rabbit sound My setup for cat hunting is either in a stand w/ a caller or i trap them in box or footholds. Frognot may have some tips on taking them out 'primitive style'..

Yep, I have a digital caller and am going to start using it now that my deer hunting is over. I've seen the kitty personally once and on my cameras another time so I know its around. That and tons of coyotes too. Time to thin em out...

My only tip is pure luck. I shot a doe Saturday morning and that afternoon the bobcat came up to where she went down and stopped. Guess was smelling the blood left on the ground. I missed a dark gray bobcat a couple of years ago in the same area so maybe that blind is in their territory. I've mostly hunted other blinds so maybe we should put gut-piles in that area to attract bobcats. Hear lots of coyotes in the area but have never seen one.

Yeah the morning I saw mine was follwing the evening where I had killed my 10 pointer not 40 yards from where I saw the cat. The gutpile was still there and I'm sure that is what had sparked it's interest - but the cat didn't go up to it. It did stop in the draw for a moment, but stupid me was going gaga with the binocs, by the time I got my gun up it was moving again. It ain't easy finding a moving bobcat in a scope at 150 yards in the grey light of pre-dawn! Earl Earl Quote:
