These bills were voted on in the house today, and all passed. I will not comply with any of them if they become law, so I will become a criminal in the eyes of the state government.
House passage of the bills below should be a wake-up call to everyone across this diverse and freedom-loving state. Your rights are under an all-out assault by those who see you and your way of life as a problem that needs to be fixed.
House Bill 1224 – Bans magazines with a capacity greater than fifteen rounds. (Passed 34-31)
House Bill 1226 – Repeals current law allowing individuals with a concealed carry permit to carry a firearm for self-defense on a college or university campus. (Passed 34-31)
House Bill 1228 – Imposes a “gun tax” for a background check when purchasing a firearm. (Passed 33-32)
House Bill 1229 – Criminalizes the private transfer of a firearm. (Passed 36-29)

In Texas we are not allowed to carry on campus (yet). I hope Magpul moves out of Colorado like they have threatened if these laws pass the Senate.

I just cant understand the college campus thing.... have there been any issued with a CCW on a college campus going crazy and killing people, or even and accidental discharge on a college campus?
Or are they just trying to make it illegal to CCW on there to make them FEEL better?
Idiot law makers.
And a gun tax? Jeez.

It appears stupid cannot be fixed in Colorado.
You need to make your way to Texas, brother.

I can't believe that CO has gone down hill that fast. I lived in Loveland from 2002-2007 and the state was fairly conservative. You had areas like Boulder and parts of Denver that where pretty liberal but it seems like most of the state has turned blue. Now anti gun, dope friendly? What happened? Invasion from So. Californians?

Yes on the Californians. When the housing market went sky high in Cali, they all moved here. Douglas county is the last conservative stronghold in the metro area. We're actually considering relocating out of state.

Don't look now but US Senate Repubs are starting to cave in on mag capicity. VA Senator Warner is one.

VA Senator Warner is one. in all fairness the the state of calirado has every right to pass what ever state laws they see fit, if it is anti-constitutional then the courts should strike it down as such. but an over-reaching omnibus federal law is beyond the pail and goes to show you what the polititians think of the law abiding citezens of the US and that the bill of rights is not worth the paper it is written on.

And a gun tax? Jeez. It is necessary so they can have more "unarmed victim zones". That way, when the next mass shooter comes along, they can have a super high body count so they can pass even more draconian legislation. Once you understand that for the people who pass these laws, it's not about safety of the public...but instead it's about control of the public, it will all start to make sense. The only solution for this is MASS disregard for these laws and open revolt if it becomes necessary. We have to engage these tyrants now, or be subjugated by them. There are no easy days ahead.

I was born in Denver, but aside from the Broncos, that is where my association with the state ends. At one point I actually considered moving there as a retirement location, and then I came to my senses.
You're correct in saying that it was an invasion- but not just from Californians from LA. It was also from the Californians from Baja, and the rest of those who didn't get here legally.
Also, Californians are waking up to figure out that you CAN find sun, water, good scenery and good weather in other parts of the country without the earthquakes, gang warfare, high taxes and corrupt law enforcement entities like the LAPD and the CHP. When I was a recruiter in San Jose, we had the highest per capita home prices in the nation in a small town called Los Altos Hills, 10 years running.
Just remember, not all law enforcement in California are corrupt, but those that aren't are intimidated into not saying anything by those who are. I know because one of my colleagues was a CHP patrolman before he enlisted in the Army.
Korea is nothing like Germany, and no amount of Army Modernization propaganda will convince me otherwise. I miss my wife and kids something fierce

If you aren't a lib, you are welcome to move to our great nation of TX! Definitely not a lib. I'm the target in obozos crosshairs: a white working middle class Christian conservative male that hunts and owns guns. Maybe one day the target and crosshairs can be reversed.

Don't look now but US Senate Repubs are starting to cave in on mag capicity. VA Senator Warner is one. I can't give a link to substantiate this, but I have heard more than one or two Fox News segments where opinions were tossed out where they think that giving up high or higher cap mags may be a bargaining chip in order to keep assault rifles. The Colorado thing is kind of odd how they landed on fifteen rounds.

4th generation native to Colorado, married a texas girl and got a one way ticket. Dang I love that girl, she rescued me from that garbage in CO. Two things Coloradans hated the most when I lived there were Texans and Californians. The smart Texans returned home and the others are a lost cause. Let's just hope they don't continue to migrate south and east. Colorado can keep them.

I was initially taken completely aback because I didn't see that the OP was in Colorado. I thought he was saying the these had passed the Texas house. Now I am only mostly taken aback that legislators in any state have such a lack of intelligence, patriotism, and willingness to accomplish something real.

No, my comment had nothing to do with Colorado. It is the National debate in which Repubs are caving.
