It's about the deer's will power. I know 22-250 and 300UM are very different, but I shot shoulder on just a Texas buck and it was DRT but that GA deer just ran off like nothing happened(after falling of course). The guys at camp also told me about a buck that been shot with a 30-06 that crossed 2 creeks, took another bullet with the 06 and a pistol shot to the head from point blank that it just shook off. Some deer just have more willpower than others.

Dont feel bad hunter I am # 6 of 7 . So you can guess what I got . I am 6ft 2 and 230 lbs though . I just look like the elephant man is all .
