Side by side is just dumb. If you've got enough deer that you need two feeders, just buy one really big one. They make them. IMHO, if they're not 180 degrees apart, or close to it, it's a waste.

Sounds stupid to me. Are you talking about a corn throwing feeder and a self-feed protein feeder?

I have one to the north of the blind and one to the south. Are you sure what your seeing are two spinners or one spinner and one gravity protein feeder.
Sorry you bet me doc.

It's crazy - like a fox! My main stand I have two feeders. One NW at about 90 yards, and one east about 120 yards. Both are 500 pound feeders.
There are several advantages to this setup:
(1) First, feeders break down. It's a fact of life. Having two feeders in the area means that if trouble develops in one, you still have a feeder going until you can get parts and make repairs - provided an unbroken feeding cycle.
(2) Secondly, two feeders at different positions allow me to hunt the same stand on different wind/weather conditions.
(3) While I see mostly the same deer at both feeders on cam, that's not 100% true. I most definitely have some bucks that will come to one of the feeders, and not the other. I have no idea why - maybe its surrounding cover, maybe it's sound, I dunno - but it's a fact.
(4) Off season, I have one setup to throw in the morning, and the other in the afternoon. It makes my corn last longer and gets the deer coming to my area using different approaches at different time of the day. And before some smart-arse says that one 1000 feeder will last the same - I can tell you it doesn't. 2 seconds on a 1000 lb feeder will empty about 6 days faster than two 500 lb feeders throwing 1 second. I can't explain it logically, but again it is an observed documented fact for me (I also have a 1000 lb feeder in another area). About a month before season, I up both of them to throw morning and evening.
(5) One of my 500lb feeders can be converted to protien. I can switch it over during the sprint early summer to protien and switch it later in the summer back over to corn.
(6) Sound - deer definitely get to recognize a feeder going off and come running. With two feeders will offset times in the morning and evening, I get the added advantage of the "dinner bell" ringing twice. I also have the deer come in to one feeder and eat a bit, then when the second feeder goes off - they start drifting over to the other feeder using a game trail that puts them crossing broadside in an opening at 40 yards. They get so used to doing this that when the second feeder goes off, it's like they lose all caution and beeline for the other feeder. There's a big brushpile at the edge of this opening, and while I don't bowhunt, I've buried up there with my camera and have them come trotting by where I could reach out and touch them.

I've got 1 - 500 lb feeder in a large pen about 134 yds to my West SWest and then I've got a 350 lb feeder that is 94 yds to my South SEast without a pen. When you are at one of the feeders you cannot see the other due to a thick line of mesquites. I use the 350 for pigs/deer/coyotes and the 500 for deer. Been very successful so far and this is my first year. Funny thing though, the 2 doe & 1 buck have all been harvested at the 350. Lots of action at the 500 in velvet but then they all vanished. Love the spot though.

One free range protein and one spin cast. Protein filled January through Sept then spin cast with corn from Sept through Jan.

I have allot of spare feeders and will do the side-by-side from time to time with one only kicking in the AM and one in the PM. Cuts down on the times that I have to fill them during season without investing in larger feeders.

All of my/our blinds have two corn feeders but not right next to each other. One down one sendero that is fenced for the deer, the other down another sendero that is open for the pigs. They feed twice a day year round.

Girlfriends dad has 3, one to the south of his stand, one to the east and a protein about 50 yards away from his east feeder next to a smaller tank... Had many instances with deer at one and get spooked by pigs so they run off and head straight to the other

I have one stand with two feeders. It's about a 80 acre coastal field with a 1-2 acre group of oak trees on the south end, and two creeks running down either side. Feeders are set up just off the creeks, 150 yards in each direction from the stand.
Works pretty well.

I have two spincast feeders and have used them in the same feed pen. You have one feeder set to go off in the morning; the other feeder set to go off in the afternoon. So you can effectively use 600 lbs of feed!

I have three Lamcos at my stand. One 80 yards with a hog proof fence around it, one 35 yards away for my .44 red hawk and one about hundred yards past my pistol feeder. Only one has the hog proof fence around it. Instead of me running one feeder for many seconds, it's broken up among the three, as I don't have to fill them up very often. It gives me more time to glass deer as they go from one feeder to another. Sometimes I will have hogs at one and several deer at the other.
