I have a flatbed trailer frame that is 6.5'x10.5'long.
If I put a cage on it would it be good for hauling pigs
to the buyer? Any ideas appreciated. In its former life it
was a pop-up camper.

most traps are 4 foot wide. a 4 foot wide opening on the rear of the trailer would be a good ideal. also, having a front and back section would help with loading from more than one trap. load some and then move them to the front and then load some more.

what is the weight max for the axle?

If I understand, you are not wanting to load the traps after a pig is caught, but to convert the trailer to load pigs and then haul them away. Correct?

If you can weld then you have the makings of a good hog hauler. All you need is some steel and utility panels and your good to go.

Sounds like a good start. I am building a new trailer right now. It's 12' x 5'. Gonna have dog boxes on top and a hog cage below.

Thanks. That is a good idea about the divider in the middle. Do you make them walk the plank to get up in the trailer?
