we had a deer similar to this...not near as small as the one in the OP, but close and has a suprisingly big rack...this is a shackleford county deer which are usually twice this size

I think the best thing about this deer is, if you were to let RM or TRex cull it, it would still look like a giant

Here is mine. He only weighed in at 128 lbs on the hoof. His rack scored in the 130s and he was 6.5. I never actually saw him prior to someone killing him but had many pics of him and thought he would weigh in around 190lbs and would score around 150 as a 6X4. FTR, a mature buck on my place will avg about 190lbs on the hoof.

here in germany we would have shot him in his second year. his horns display great hereditary genetics but his body size would make him a class 3. IE shoot on site.

she said ,why does that ammo have pretty green tips on it? the guy said its the eco-friendy ammo.

Back in 1978, I was a young Marine stationed up at Whidbey Island, Wash and every Whitetail I saw up there was small like this one. A few of them were about the size of a Lab, but most weighed in about 55-60 lbs. All of the natives said living on the Island dwarfed them. With that line of thought, we ought to have Nilgai sized deer here in Texas.

Jim Hogg Co.

This buck was something of a midget. He was only about 2/3's the size of a comparable aged buck, yet had a typical 6x6 frame and scored in the upper 140's.
