I like flip up and glass. Glass isn't as durable but easier to keep clean and clear on down the road.

Keep a no pest strip like ProZap in there year round and it will kill the wasps when they get in and stay over night. Just sweep them out. I like fold up glass windows.

I have had issue with the plexiglass developing a "haze" and seems more susceptible to scratches...

One of my blinds, I have typical hinges with locking arms to hold them open. Another stand I built has a string that is ran above the window, through the blind, that I can pull and lock the window open.

This thread covers the way I would do mine. I would also cut the wooden windows and hinge them to open out and down so they could be left shut off season. Help cut down on fading issues and scratching.

I like clear on the main or feeder window(s). The rest I like some tint but not much.

Why does everyone prefer flip up windows? Just curious? What I like about slides is you can open them a little or a lot. Flip ups or flip downs have to be about 90% open to stick a gun barell out the window. And if it is cold or raining you cannot just open the window 10% and sneak a barrel out.

I like flips mainly for when I'm not in the blind. All of the sliding window blinds that I have hunted seem to an inch of dust and flying visitors. With flip up it's easier to seal off.

Sideways sliders for me. I usually only open my tinted windows about 5-6"....just wide enough to use my binos. The deer are less likely to see me that way. When it's cold or blowing you can either leave the upwind window closed or just cracked as needed.

My hunting buddy is just the opposite. When he gets in a blind, he opens every window to the max, stealth be damned. He likes the wide open 360 degree view.

So, each to his own.

Ihave had both it seemedto me that on occation just about the time I was about to lower my window a deer would be watching me.
these were wooden frames with plexiglas.
The last two blinds I have built I use 1/4" lexan and plastic track material. My blinds are 5X5 so my windows are 36" on three sides I also made covers for them that close from the outside and I can additionaly adjust there elevation by a light chain on each side in case the sun is a bother.
I much prefer the slide for one reason it does not leave a big hole for the critters to see in.

Sliders. Easy to slide, quiet, and not so obvious when you open the window. And when it's really really cold and windy, you can slide them closed or mostly closed and then open as needed with a gloved fingertip. The lift or swing windows are either all the way open or shut, with no middle ground.

Flip DOWN. You'll have to fasten them to something if you flip them up. If you flip them down, they'll just hang by themselves.

i went with slide tinted plexi and they look good im going to weather seal that inch on the end so no flying insects get in so far i like them but never used them in a hunting situation . flip up or flip down seems like to much movement if the critter is close.

I make mine to flip up and to the outside. I have a buddy that got ahold of some old bus windows and put them in his blind. I really liked them also.
