That's awesome, I usually stuff the neck with a jalapeņo or an onion wedge. A lemon works too

What do you guy's stuff the neck with? I use foil, but that's kind of yucck. You stuff the neck with foil???? No I do not stuff anything in the neck. The idea with beer can chicken is that 1) kinda nice how they sit on the beer can and 2) you are supposed to leave a little bit of the beer in the can, and it "breaths" through the neck and provides flavor. In reality, coke can with water in it is fine too, but the breathing part is important I think and it cooks better. When done, I pick bird up with tongs one end goes down in the neck and the other goes down the back, and with a knife in the other hand I stick it down the neck and punch the can out, then you can just set it on a platter like shown in the pic.

Just a tip, I saw Bobby Flay season the inside of his beer before putting it in the chicken..it's a great way for added flavor when the beer starts to steam and moisten the chicken. Give it a try!

We have cooked a lot of these and honestly I don't think that blindfolded I could tell you if there was beer or whatever in the can. We now typically use water and seasonings.
To the best of my memory we have only ruined one. I put way too much garlic in the can. The dog literally would not eat it. I think my wife said she saw him trying to bury it.

i don't have pictures but for a month i was bored. i did cornish hens on the little spicy V8 juice cans, a small turkey on a large V8 juice can and a duck on a mango/pineapple juice (beer can size) can. i had to cut under the ducks tail so it would sit up but for a bird that dries out when it cooks, it turned out juicy.
