Man, I'd like to see a real, live toad. have only seen a few of Texas's famous wildlife since moving here.

Great pic. When I was a child living here in Mesquite we had them in our neighborhood. Played with them alot as a child. Pesticides eventually wiped them out. The last time I saw one was a few years back in Young County during deer season. We walked up on two of them less than 30 yards apart.

We used to have them in Oak Cliff back in the 60s. I guess it probably was pesticide that did them in. I gave up using pesticides around our house,too much collateral damage. I will give fireants a special Amdro snack though. Cool photo,he's just a little guy.

We used to see them all the time up in Canadian on the dove lease. Big ones out sunning and they'd squirt blood at ya if you messed around and got too close. Hadn't seen one in a while though.

I haven't seen toads since we moved to north Carrollton in the early 70's.
