Great pic. When I was a child living here in Mesquite we had them in our neighborhood. Played with them alot as a child. Pesticides eventually wiped them out. The last time I saw one was a few years back in Young County during deer season. We walked up on two of them less than 30 yards apart.
Was it pesticides that killed them? I have read that fire ants depradation of harvester ants (which is a staple in the toads diet) that did them in????
I havent seen a horned toad or a harvester ant in 20 years!
