I can see were your coming from thought about 4.5 myself...just cant see the very back cusp enough to call it slanted and the first few molars are usualy more blunt on a 4.5 yr old....IMO

I can see your point on the back cusp, just looks like too much wear all around and too many indications of being a 4 1/2 yr old. Can't see where the 1 1/2s and 2 1/2s are coming from at all. It's like everyone decided to play a joke on this poor guy lol

A mature buck might be a deer, but you can bet it's a totally different animal

Not 1.5. 1.5 year old deer have a tricuspid 2nd premolar (2nd tooth). Deer was 2.5 or possibly 3.5 if shot in season

well the third tooth is not the milk tooth 1.5 not possible enamel wore though on Fouth tooth were dentin is wider than enamel but not other tooth 3.5 but there is a study that checked know deer ( there age ) and found this is not as accurate as once thought. It tends to miss under. The deers tends to be older than the tooth wear would say

I would put this deer at either 4.5 or 5.5 yrs old. The last cusp on the last tooth is angled toward the outside of the jaw so he is at least 4.5. The sharp edges on most of the teeth are worn smooth so that is a sign of him being more of a 5.5 to me. Lots of tooth wear for this buck to be less than 4.5 and his diet and location in the state can effect his tooth wear. Really need both jaws to see for sure as I have seen bucks wear one side more than the other.
