what kind of scope does everyone use for hogs and varmits. im looking at mueller or sightmark illuminated scope to mount on my ar15. just trying to get a idea of what is the best for pigs and varmits.

I use a Nikon Buckmasters 4.5-14x40 ($300-$400) and it has a threaded end for a shade attachment. The clarity at 14x is really good compared to other brands and has a side focus to adjust for different ranges.

I like lower magnification scopes- I've tried 3-9, 1.5-4, and 2-7 on various AR's, and I think 2-7 is the most versatile. Use a QD mount of some kind and you can switch between your scope and irons or a red dot of some type.

We have some nice Sightmark AR scopes in stock, let me know if you want one.

i went with the simmons 4-16x40 on my new 6.8. not illuminated but i can see the cross hairs fine in my feeder lights.
