I am looking for an opportunity to do some hunting primarily hogs and not looking to spend an arm and leg or sell a kidney to do it. I am in Amarillo and dont mind paying a small fee as long as I dont have to drive across the state to do it. If anyone in the area wouldnt mind some company or can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. Like I said I'm not looking to freeload on a hunt but it has to be within reason. I would also be willing to share the meat if neccessary. Thanks. PS: Please dont recommend public land unless your willing to go along.

Hey luvpigmeet becareful what you wish for. Anybody in Texas that has hogs would sell a kidney to get rid of them. Once they are in an area you can not kill them out.

I would love to help someone with that problem. Guess i wasn't thinking clearly. Just tired of shooting pigs that I can pet. I think you know what I mean. Wished I lived there. I pay $600-$800 a pig. I am done. I will spend the money to go for wild pigs any day. Thanks.

I appreciate those that have commented or contacted me about my post. I do need to clarify something though. "I AM NOT LOOKING FOR A FREE HUNT NOR A HANDOUT" merely an opportunity to get out and hunt. My post clearly states that as such so if people would stick to the original subject and comment accordingly it would be much appreciated. Reading and understanding goes a long ways. P.S. Thanks Monty for the contact info I'll give him a shout and see what we can work out.

Good luck Bartman. I live in the Panhandle as well, and we're quite a ways from lots of hogs. The nearest really good hog hunting I am familiar with is in the Silverton area. I used to hunt hogs in the breaks there until the land owner passed away. I got it by calling around and asking if anyone knew of people having trouble keeping hogs off there place. One man gave me a name, and I got permission over the phone. I hunted there for free 3 years, the last two years with permission to shoot a deer as well. In this part of the country there are a few nice people around who, if approached properly, are still willing to help a guy out. Wish I had more specific info for you; good luck.

Bartman, if you decide to try public, go talk to some rangers that work there...they are usually more than willing to point you towards hogs. I live in SE Texas so I can't be of more help to you. Good luck.

Amen, that's why we have a hog problem in Texas and it's only going to get worse.
