Sulfur or in a pinch medicated ear tags for cows, I'll tie em to my boot loop, they seem to help, but sulfur is best.

You can get sulfur at most feed and farm supply. Possibly at lawn and garden centers. It comes in powder form. Most people pour some into a sock, tie a knot in it and dust socks, boots, pants, etc. Works well on chiggers also.

Just out of curiosity, if deer hunting, would the deer not smell the sulfur? Does anyone know how deer will react to the smell of sulfur on a hunter?
I'm just wondering if you use it, would you be tick free, and never see a deer in the woods because of it.

A quick FYI:
Ticks don't just come up from / off of the ground or brush etc.
The little monsters will also drop on you from higher areas (trees etc)
Make sure you dust / spray all over if you are having a tick problem.
It's a good idea to go through a tick check after a day in the woods. If you are with the right person, it can be a good avenue towards a better evening. LOL

Off works pretty good. I also find that it helps if I wear my shirt tucked in and wearing jeans and boots rather than shorts or even jeans and tennis shoes.

I tell my wife that I like to check her for ticks. I used to use that on my ex. Always had a good out come till you find one in the wrong place. Trust me that will ruin the moment quick.

Years ago I bought some stuff called Permanon. It came in a spray can and you coated your cloths boots, socks etc. You then let them air dry overnight and there was no oder and not one tick at a place that they wore us out previously.

that spray has permethrin in it and it is supposed to stay on clothes boots, etc.. for 4 to 6 weeks even if you wash it. but it wont work on skin, it will just evaporate and your body will absorb the rest. wont stop ticks on the skin. off is good for that.
Stuff my dad said in the deer blind
"I can dive deeper and come up drier" "did you do that?"
