Kind of mixed thoughts on this one!Our place they are use to the sound of Cummins in pasture and noise that goes with the truck,we're talking branch jumping, doors slamming, dogs barking at cows, beer cans being bouced off said dogs heads, and screaming at dogs, and seeing deer moving along unrushed. Also the same deer will be jumpy if you are in stealth mode and trying to leave very little impact getting in area. They know the area better than we do and any noise alerts them, carry on like deer are last thing your after and they don't feel the threat!
Brayden (Lazy L's Southern Comfort) you will be missed! You were more than a pet you were my reason to rise and return for many days! You were my rock! 12/26/03-10/25/13

I've bowhunted for years, and everyone who has been out in the woods during bow season has probably noticed the difference once opening morning of gun season starts, especially when you get up in your stand early that morning.
You hear all the traffic on the gravel roads off in the distance, car doors slamming, people talking, dogs barking, horns honking, and even shots going off way before it's legal shooting hours.
It's a nice way to amuse yourself on those cool clear, still mornings of the early season, and then as it starts to creep into daylight the war begins as the cannons start to go off.
If I notice it, I know the deer have also!

Good post Jimbo.
I always try to stay in the stand until noon or later on opening morning of gun season. About 10am when a lot of hunters are crawling back into their beds at camp, all the deer that have been laying low from all the excitement begin to get up and move around.

You're right Jimbo. LOL
Our place is high and we can see for miles.
It always cracks me up when I have been sitting in the stand for an hour before daylight and right before dawn you see that guy on his 4 wheeler running late. (maybe too much nightlife)
You can tell how late he is by how fast he is driving. I know the deer can hear him coming for miles.

As long as you dont hire 2 mexicans to cut ceders for the whole month of september. My dad did that at our place to "open" the lease up and no one shot one bucks that yr. However the next yr spoke for itself lol. But in other words it will be fine if you are just cutting lanes and what not.

I have 5000 acres leased with one other hunter. We fired two shots on the property last year--his buck and mine. No four wheelers--no utvs, no riding around in the jeep.
I know guys that hunt dove all Sept. and Oct. and chase hogs all year around. Every time they go to the lease they shoot their AR's until they fill a pickup bed full of brass. During deer season, they come in at noon and shoot .22s at cans then shoot varmints at night after coming in from evening stand. Their kids have 4-wheeler races all day all over the lease on the weekends.
Then they sit around with me wondering why my place has such better deer and that I am so lucky to have my lease and that theirs sucks and they need a new place. I can't convince them that the location has little to do with it. They could lease out the best spot in the state, and they would run the deer off before ever seeing one.
