I'll alway's have a 7mag in the family and it will alway's be a Ruger M77 tang safety.

Why are you going to shoot 175's?

Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

Just use a good bullet designed for heavier game in the 150 to 160 range and you should be fine. Then put it where it count's the most.

Just traded for one last weekend, just got a scope put on it that I could live with last night. Now all there is to do is sight it in and break in the barrel.

7mm is a great gun.
Zero it in with the hornady. Use the rem. at 25 then go to 100. Just make sure you use the hornady to zero it if that is what you will be using.

The 7mm mag was appealing since I already reload 7mm-08 I can use the same bullets. I might hunt with it some this year, but the 7mm-08 will still be my goto gun for Texas whitetails.

Loyal 7mm brother here. I bought an old used Winchester 70 7mm rem mag with a 6-18 redfield scope on it years ago and I've put down everything with it. It lacks nothing in the knockdown department. Congrats on the Nilgai. Yes we definitely need pics. Did you stay with a 150 gr or use a 175 gr?

I hunt with Sako 7mm mag hunter lightweight.I've used it for whitetail for the last 15 years and absolutely enjoy the confidence it gives me for knockdown(not having to track very far)power.I use hornady 139 gr.,and have been very satisfied.

I own two 7mm’s

A 7mm Ultra Mag in a Remington SPS 26 inch barrel - That I’ve used to take a Bull Nilgai on the Norias/King Ranch, also in New Mexico and Colorado for Elk, Mulies’ and one lucky shot on a Pronghorn at 411 yards on the range finder.

I also have a TC Venture in 7mm Rem Mag, this is my favorite all around rifle for the woods - I’ve taken one Aoudad, several Hogs and Deer and 1 squirrel that I could never find after I shot him –

I think it’s an awesome cartridege, extremely accurate flat shooting cartridge with several choices of bullet weight and types to match your game size and shooting style!

I have a Browning A Bolt 7 MAG that I worked by tail off to get as a broke college student many moons ago. It has taken black bear, axis, rams, sheep. I recently added a 7mm-08 to the mix so I love the 7mm family to say the least.

I recently picked up a Sendero 7mm Rem so I guess I'm new to the 7mm brotherhood. Someday I'd like to buy, or get something rebarreled to 7mm STW, but that's a couple thousand rounds from now.

I rock a Winchester Model 70 7mm Rem Mag. It sure is a great caliber. I don't deer hunt with anything else!

Texas is better.
