I was looking at prices and found you could get a 71mph street legal dune buggy for about 7000. not a bad price considering some side by sides cost closer to 10k. They had smaller models closer to 3k but still just as much fun..

Anyone have any thoughts on this Here is where i found the prices

If all you want is something that 2 people can ride around in and go fast and don't care how loud it is, get a dune buggy. If you want something that you and a hunting buddy can use to get you to your blinds and carry hundreds of pounds of corn in to fill feeders, haul firewood to your camp, haul a harvested deer back to camp, buy a side-by-side. It all depends on what you are going to use it for. I have a Yamaha Rhino 450 and it was around $8400, tax and all, out the door. It would have been less but I added a couple of accessories like digital gauges, canvas top and Benz silencer muffler.

P.S. This thread should be moved to the Hunting Vehicle section.

Go with the side by side - more uses. Make sure you go with a name brand - you get what you pay for.

I love my Honda Big red. Would not trade it for a dune buggy.

This right here. We just got a Ranger a few moths ago, should have done it much earlier. That vehicle goes darned near anywhere.

I've had two Yamaha Rhinos, 450 and 700. They are great working/hunting machines.

Me and Rick Paillet with my Rhino on a dog hunt. On Verminators II on the night kill, we are in my Rhino. I have it set up for night hunting with my chair on top of the cab.

Good points metioned earlier about your useage requirements!
Once you get a UTV, which is a side-by-side, you'll wonder why you didn't get one sooner. I have a Polaris Ranger, after having had a Polaris 500 ATV. The versatility that the UTV offers is what sets if off from the ATV, and once you get one on your ranch or lease you can better appreciate its uses!

The dune buggys that I've seen were all decked in camo, some even offer 4wd; but in comparison, they had too many limitations!
