My ETA on the arrival at my deer stand Saturday morning always depends on how much I party around the campfire the night before.

No hangover can keep me from the stand on Saturday morning. Will be there between 6:00 and 6:15 depending on when mother nature decides to call that morning. LOL.

I won't get to be on the stand at all on Saturday. My granddaughter has drill team competition on Saturday. I'm going to go Wednesday thru Sunday next week instead.
Good luck to all you opening weekend hunters. I wish I could convince the idiots in the sports association to do these competitions on a weekend other than opening weekend of deer season.

I have to make a 2-hour drive to my property, so I'll probably leave Houston around 4:00 a.m. and get to my stand around 6:30 including stops for coffee. Lots of coffee.

I do the early morning drive as well. Leave my house around 4:45 for an hour drive, though I usually make a stop at Whataburger on my way out of town.

Priddy, let me just say that I was actually praying that my buck wouldn't show up, because I didn't know if my head would stay intact if I had to pull the trigger! lol
As it turned out, my buck did show up, teased me for about 30 minutes going in and out of cover, and then I dropped him. My head did not explode, but my knees were jello for about 15 minutes. That's funny

I'll get to my stand around 6:20 and feed my senderos, park right under my stand and be in it by 6:30-ish.
Hunting so far south I don't expect a lot of action this early. I'm trying to contain my excitement for December-January.
