This is a great forum. I was able to get info for the Texas youth hunting program last year and my ten year old was able to take his first deer. I had promised him a hog hunt before summer was out. Well we had a busy couple months and I'm on the ropes about where to take him. My schedule is fairly flexible but I would like to stay within a couple hours of Parker County. Not trying to spend a lot of money just get him out for a good experience. Any reccommendations would be helpful. Thanks, Nick

firenick35,

I live in Parker County also. I took my daughter on a hog hunt about two hours away with... http://younghuntersunlimited.org/

Great, Great organization and the best part..it's free. They have two hunt weekends in August on a first come first serve basis. There are alot of other great places, I'm sure. Just wanted to recommend this one.

Here is a link to my daughters story and picture of her hog:

Lemme know if you have any questions. Good luck and hope you have fun!

Thanks TW just went on and registered him. We'll have to wait and see. Nice pic of your daughter's harvest.

That's awesome you are taking your kids out. My oldest daughter got her first deer last year, and I was more excited about that than anything I had ever harvested. Keep it up, it's memories they will have forever!!

Great! Hopefully there will be a spot available! Let me know when you find out. And be sure to ask me if you have any questions at all about it.
