Do you use big free choice feeders that hold them in the area? Or do you feed the roads?

I do the new internet thing where I can aim the gun with my joystick and then push the button to shoot the deer, so technically my stand is about 400 miles from the feeder.

Cute.... Other than the fact that it's illegal.... but I know you were just joking

Oh, right. I suppose you're going to tell me heat-seeking missiles and/or landmines for deer hunting are illegal too? Are we still allowed to have fun?

I am not one to rag on another mans hunting methods, but those are just not sporting methods for deer. Now if I can try out some of your missiles for a hog hunt, then I will gladly bring along a bag full of claymores. Sorry that they are only vanilla m18 surplus jobs, not the fancy Mossy Oak clad Cuddeeback claymores from Cabella's, but they work well enough.

hmmm...

very interesting posts here...I always thought some people wouldn't go out of their way to call someone a liar, unless they were certain on what they had seen for themselves...

(in my best Forest Gump accent)... and that's all I've got to say about that.

I like the feeder around 27 to 40 yards away. If you sight in dead on at 100 yds the first line of sight cross over is around 27 yards. I keep the blind window opening small, 10 in. x 12 inches with a curtain on the offside. I'll throw corn on the ground between blind and feeder. I want the deer close. Reach out and touch one. I pretty much hunt for meat only and want a healthy doe. If you want meat for the freezer, you wouldn't butcher the old bull or skinny cow.

Get close, shoot em in the head or neck. Keep the meat lead free.

Rifle blind 45 yards from feeder..... scratch Pretty much because that's the area where all the trails cross. Terrain and vegatation don't allow for a longer shot. I wish it did, I spooked two nice bucks last year just flipping the safety off.

Will be putting a tripod right in the middle of a clump of cedar about 15-20 yards from feeder for bow season.

'bout 170 and 160. I never put it farther than I can judge them. No problem hitting them way out for me the problem would be judging them way out ( in a 1 buck county too ).

Mine is 150 yards only cause I like to take my time and be sure they are legal. I'll spook em every time moving around to get binos if I'm any closer.

100 yards, 60 yards, 90 yards and 85 yards.....of course i can shoot further than tht, but really whats the need, the deer never know i'm there anyway.

makes it easy when I'm culling does, plus I corn the roads plenty when i'm out

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.
