we have a kubota RTV, its intention is not for hunting, so as a work horse anda straight up power and pulling power, it is awesome. The Kabota is the one I almost bought a few years ago! They had them at the Hunters Extravaganza a few years back and the prices were discounted pretty nice! They had one that was fully tricked out with the disel engine and 4x4 for around $10k! That sounds pretty expensive but heck there are ATV's out there with that kind of price tag now! No doubt if I was in the market for something like that I would buy the Kabota! 10 grand!!! wish we coulda got ours for that lol!!! it had the hydraulic dump and everything??? we paid like 12 i think. Cant remember if it had the hydro dump or not, but I am sure it did since it was the top of the line unit at the time! Keep in mind this was about 8 years ago when I was seriously lookin into them! The most recent prices I have seen are around $14 for a similar equiped Kubota!

This thread made me wonder if anybody leaves their ATV or UTV at the lease all season? Seems here in Mills county every hunter I meet on the road coming or leaving has one or the other with them. Wouldn't surprise me if less hunters are leaving them out this year. The forums and Craigslist are full of people trying to replace stolen ATV's. All due to the economy? I'd have no idea.

My Kubota RTV900 stays at the lease year-round. I got a big logging chain and a big padlock on it to keep honest people honest. And Bad People?.....can't say.

Michael Waddell sure loves his bad boy buggy. We have the Cub Cadet with a CAT Diesel motor in ours. Now that is a work horse.

We leave ours (4 utv's, 1 atv) on the lease. In 10 years we have never had a problem, except for the mice.

Also good til the end of the year is the approximate, $5000 tax credit on NEVs, LSVs, road legal electric vehicles

Virtually evaryone on our lease have gone to Polaris Rangers or Mules.I can haul 1000 pounda of corn to fill most of my feeders. We hunt some pretty rugged country in ValVerde County. That means your pickup doesn't have to leave camp.

I have a Rhino 660 that I use to work around our ranch and I absolutely love it. It will haul feed, tow a trainer, and get to places I'd never take my truck. It'll also get to just about any place my ATV's will go. As a change of pace, however, I'm trying something new: I just bought a low-mileage Subaru Sambar Mini-truck. Four-wheel drive and a 6-ft bed that'll haul 800 pounds. Enclosed cab with radio and heater, and it's not much bigger than my Rhino. Best of all, I paid just $3500 for it--that's less than you'd pay for a mid-sized ATV!

Where did you score that Subaru Mini-Truck at for $3500? I didn't realize they were 4x4's. Only problem I see from the pic might be ground clearance when crossing creeks and ditches.

Bought it from a private owner in Austin. There are a couple more advertised for about $4k on Craigslist in Austin. Stock ground clearance isn't bad, and most owners spend $150 for a 2" or 3" lift kit. Most all the mini-trucks are 4X4. Some have hi-lo range. My Sambar has an extra-low first gear, which I really like better.

We have two both with 3" lifts I wouldn't trade them or either atv or utv. you can have two decked out mini trucks for the price of some atv's and all utv's no brain'r to me kt

I heard or read in a previous thread that the mini-trucks are great, but designed for an average sized 5'5" japanese hunter. Any truth to that, or can a 6'2" fatboy fit in one without feeling like a sardine???

I'm 6'0", 175 and have plenty of room but--to be honest--the enclosed cab just might make a 6'2" fatboy feel like a sardine. An owner with size 14 mud boots might also have problems with the small pedals.

My brother is 5'10 and goes about 275 and has a little trouble. Dad is 6'3 and 250 and does not like to drive it. He prefers to sit up top with my 4 year old. By the way, if anyone is interested in mine, shoot me a pm.

I HAVE HAD THE FOUR WHEELERS AND CHANGED TO A UTV ABOUT 5 YEARS AGO. I HAVE A RANGER 700. LOVE IT. IT CAN DO IT ALL AND A LOT MORE THAN AS ATV. IT IS MORE COMFORTABLE AND A LOT WARMER GOING TO THE DEER STAND WHEN IT IS REAL COLD OR RAINING. I HAVE AN ENCLOSED CAB WITH DOORS ON THE RANGER. OF COURSE, I AM GETTING UP IN YARS NOW AND COMFORT IS GETTING MORE IMPORTANT.
