I drive over a 100 miles every day. This year I have noticed a lot more UTV's than ATV's on back of trailers during hunting season. Maybe they are more eye catchy, but it seems as though more people are switching to the UTV's. Anybody else notice this? And why the switch? I have a rhino and love it. Would never go back to a ATV unless just for pleasure. The UTV's are work horses.

I have noticed the increase in UTV's also!

For me it wouldnt work though! 3 of my 4 feeders are almost inaccesable even with a 4x4 ATV and there is no way on earth I would be able to get to them with something much bigger and like a UTV!

For tight quarters you just cant beat a 4 wheeler or the old 3 wheelers!

UTV's. I have a EZGO ST350. Carries 8 bags of corn and two overweight deer hunters. The electric dump bed makes for easy loading/unloading of deer and hogs.

coffee spelled backwards is eeffoc. I don't give eeffoc until I have my morning coffee.

Don't forget, they're also a heck of a lot safer, too!

Yeah, unless you don't set the park brake and they roll down the hill chasing you..... you should have been there...

I can see the utility, but right now finances won't let me get one machine when I can get two fourwheelers for the same price

I have atv's and they have advantages and disadvantages I like the functionality of the UTV's but I think they are way over priced.

I made the switch from a Polaris ATV to a Rhino 450 because I am getting old and the ATV was too hard on this old man's back.
Love the Rhino.
And yes, I have noticed more UTVs on the road.

we have a kubota RTV, its intention is not for hunting, so as a work horse anda straight up power and pulling power, it is awesome. It is hard to stick in the mud (and i mean hard) but if u do, u might be ina bind! having a bed on the back of these things beats the hell out of any ATV. that and the seats.

I have the Polaris Sportsman 700 EFI X2. It is a two up ATV with a dump bed. When I am by myself I use the bed, it holds up to 400 pounds. That's a lot of corn. It will tow 1200 pounds.

When my grandson comes out we fold the extra seat up and I've got room for a hunting buddy without feeling like a manwich. The seat is always there, it's not one of those you have to take off and store somewhere else.

It works for me. Some guy had a new one on here for sale about a month ago, $5700, as I recall. Great price.

Good Hunting,
Gary

They offer a nice break from the elements too. We are expecting snow here in SA tomorrow!?!?!?! I'd sure like to have one on the lease this weekend....

The Kabota is the one I almost bought a few years ago! They had them at the Hunters Extravaganza a few years back and the prices were discounted pretty nice! They had one that was fully tricked out with the disel engine and 4x4 for around $10k! That sounds pretty expensive but heck there are ATV's out there with that kind of price tag now!

No doubt if I was in the market for something like that I would buy the Kabota!

Yes, I've noticed more UTV's also... The key is in the first word - Utility. They can go almost anywhere, haul loads that you can't on a ATV, have beds for storage (and most dump), haul at least two people comfortably and on and on. There is no question that they are much more versatile than ATV's.

I have a Teryx NRA. Not a moments trouble and has been an absolute godsend for getting all sorts of work done. Pretty much irreplaceable.

I always had 4-wheelers and 2 years ago I decided to get a Ranger 700XP. It is alot better for hauling feed, more people can get in it, and it will tow more as well. I kept the 4-wheeler for those tight hard to reach places, but find myself in the Ranger the most.

This thread made me wonder if anybody leaves their ATV or UTV at the lease all season? Seems here in Mills county every hunter I meet on the road coming or leaving has one or the other with them.

I've noticed that also. Seems like everyone's carrying a trailer with a utv in it. I prefer a good 4x4 atv, but that's just me. I like to look at setting pretty in the back of a truck.

Well, what I mean by that, sir, is... if you was to put me and this here sniper rifle anywhere up to and including one mile of Adolf Hitler with a clear line of sight, sir... pack your bags, fellas, war's over. Amen.--SPR[image]

Bought a Kawasaki Mule 610 4x4. 8 bags of corn go in the back then I can back up under the feeder and stand in the bed to fill the thing up. I also like that you step into it instead of over it, and I can ride along, lean over and pick up trash or limbs and toss them in the bed without getting off. The 610 is small enough to fit in a standard pickup and will tow 1200 pounds.

after having a deer run into me and my 4 yr old son on my 4 wheeler earlier this year and flipping us over cracking my rib (son walked away without a scratch) i switched to a UTV. never will ride an ATV again.

I've always just had 4 wheelers, but now that my son is older and getting too big to ride behind me, and my wife is getting into hunting, I'm planning to sell my 4 wheeler after deer season and buy some type of UTV, just not sure which one yet.
