30-06 is my favorite all around rifle

Any gun I have in my hand when i see one! Are you looking to buy one, is that the reason for the question? If so, just for pigs. I use an ar15 .223 (i do a lot of predator hunting, as well as pigs), if i was to get one just for pigs it would be a ar10 in .308.

.243 in an ar10 platform would also do the trick

308 is what I use most . I have shot a 140 lb pig with my 223 and it dropped in place

.308 is my choice but anything bigger than a .223 will do the job. Just stick to head shots!

If you like the AR15 platform - the 6.8 SPC round is great for deer and hogs.

Just about any gun will work. I just got a 45-70 but that is more for fun than anything. And yeah the headshots are the way to go.

I've dropped 4 or 5 250+ lb boars with my .270. Use the soft points and a neck shot. And these shots have been over anywhere from 50 to 200 yards, and all one shot, no follow up needed. A .270 has better ballistics, and nearly identical knock down power compared to a .308.

30-06 all the way, really anything will work if you go for headshots though.

Any gun will do, Hell i took a 250lb boar with a .22.... had to put a couple rounds into him but it killed him. .223, .30-30 with levereloution rounds, .308, .30-06. They all work. I really like 7.62x39 with soft or hallow points. Great under 100yrds.
It all depends on what kind of hunting you plan on doing most. Hunting from a stand with a feeder? A regular deer rifle will always work. Hunting form a vehicle of some type? An auto or lever gun will work great. How far are your shots? Most of mine are were in the wooded areas on the coast and in the briars. No long shots. Think about what you do and then determine what works best for you.

Ive dropped every hog ive hit with my 243, however they were all within 100 yards Haha yeah, so then why are you so adiment about getting your .308?? You just have to have that don't you. But anyways, i shot a 400+ lb. boar with my .243 aiming behind the ear hit a little further back becasue he was trottin away. No blood but i knew i hit him. Found him bout 2 weeks later dead. I'm getting a .308 as well so there is my answer.
The beauty of the Second Ammendment is it won't be needed until they try and take it.
