The long awaited bullet samples are finally here!! I've been working with a new bullet company for my custom projectiles for my cycling subsonic 223 Rem/5.56 ammo! Now, it's time to load these up for testing! Here's what they look like. The new bullets are the black ones. My old bullet is on the right, next to regular 55 grain SP. Specs are .225" in diameter and weigh 118 grains!!! Previous bullet was 112 grains. Here's my old video of the previous 112 grain cycling subs. We are almost there!!! Rifle specifications to run this ammo. This ammo is designed for the AR-15 platform. The rifle MUST have: Carbine or pistol length gas system (will not cycle in mid-length or rifle length gas system) 1:7″ twist barrel or faster (1:6.5, 1:6″). This will NOT stabilize in a 1:8″, 1:9″ twist barrel or slower! Must be shot suppressed! 16″ barrel or shorter!

Ive made some 77grn misc bullets down to subsonic levels. Seem to work pretty well, not for shooting across a big canyon 400yds away, but short shorts would be good. I find changing out the buffer, and using a softer spring works well with longer rifle length actions or full length vent system.
Thing is, 556/223 is not really designed to go subsonic, hard to slow down a 3200fps bullet to 300blk specs.
fun playing with it....

Yes, they are not "designed" to cycle subsonic. But with the right ammo, it will! The goal of this ammo is to allow a basic AR-15 to cycle these without modification to the AR. As long as you have a 7" twist, pistol or carbine length gas system, shoot suppressed, and 16" barrel or shorter, it will work.
